Chapter2

He wore a white t-shirt that hugged his perfectly toned muscles, paired with blue faded jeans.Underneath his shirt I could almost see that he had a couple of tattoos on him. His ocean blue eyes matched perfectly with his jet black hair.He sat on one of the stools arranged at the counter.

"What should I get you?" I asked him still admiring the beautiful creature he was.I was lost for a moment before he snapped his finger and repeated his order.He was perfect from all angles.
The shift felt like it had only lasted a minute as he kept me occupied.I chatted with him when I wasn't attending to customers.His name was Ethan.

As I got home every light had been switched off.It was obvious that Sarah had gone for a sleep over at one of her man whore's houses.Atleast it was going to be a quiet peaceful night,besides it had been a very long day and the last thing I required is someone getting on my nerves. I was easily carried away by sleep.

It was already morning and as always Khloe's mornings began with hot steaming coffee.Today was going to be a very boring day as she had neither school nor work.All her friends had their day planned out so she had the day all to herself.She decided to watch her favorite comedy 'Big Bang Theory'.
After watching the show for a couple of hours,she decided on making cupcakes then dropping them at Olivia's.Olivia loved Khloe's cupcakes.Afterwards she would go for the solo shopping spree she had planned a few weeks ago.

Khloe's POV
I took a shower got dressed in a pink tank top,black sweat pants and white sneakers. I carefully laid the cupcakes in a tin to avoid smudging the icing.
"She better love these...."I mumbled to myself.
I drove to Ethic to deliver the cupcakes to Olivia.I knew she would automatically be there.For some reason understood only by her,she loved working. I was shocked she didn't excuse herself from herself date yesterday just to call me to inquire how things were at work.

"Hi Olivia..... I brought you some cupcakes."
"Hi Khloe,thanks."I could see the excitement on her face as she reached out for one in the tin.
We chatted for a while as she was on break.She talked to me about herself date and how nice he had been.....any possible gossip in general.
"Hey Khloe,chit chat's over.Olivia break time's up,get back to work ."Noah shouted from the bar.
Noah was in charge of the workers at Ethic.He was always annoying at times....such times.

It was 6pm so I figured I'll go for shopping then. I got back to my car and drove to 'My Mitchelle'.It had always been my favorite clothes store since childhood and on top of that they had a nice parking lot. I took my purse and rushed into the store.There had been a variety of choices,so I just put them in the clothes basket.I went to the changing room. I wished I was with Olivia for second opinion.Looking at my wrist watch,it was already 9pm. I had to get home quick. I rushed to the counter to go pay for whatever clothes I had chosen.
I handed out my credit card to the lady.
"Credit card declined miss ."
"What?Try it again."What the hell! I had no cash with me.This was going to be humiliating considering the heap of clothes I had with me.It must have been Sarah's doing.
"Looks like you will be paying with cash today missy."The lady said impatiently.
The line was getting longer.Since when did so many people shop at night?Just as the people started complaining,I saw a hand stretch out and hand over a credit card.
"Here.You can use mine."A cute girl handed over her credit card.I looked at her then at the heap of clothes I was going to 'buy'.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yeah,I don't mind........you better take it before I change my mind."She chuckled.
Just then I saw a masculine hand snakes around her waist.Looking up it was.......Ethan?
"Get your things now.You just got your ass saved."The lady at the counter chuckled.
Thanking the girl, I got my bags and left.
"That must be Ethan's girl," I mumbled to myself as I walked to their car.
What? I just had probably the most terrible embarrassment and am thinking of Ethan? I must be sick.
I dumped the shopping bags on the back seat and drove off. I silently watched the isolated neighborhood as I drove.Isolated mainly because the big houses were owned by business tycoons who were always away on business trips.Little by little the soft showers that fell on the windscreen turned into a heavy downpour. I pulled over to turn on the music,to keep my mind occupied. I dreaded driving in heavy rains especially if I was alone in the car.It reminded me of my mum's death.

~Flashback~
My mum had been working for the Social Co.It was a company made of lawyers and she had been promoted to CEO.
"Mum,am leaving for school now. I don't want Professor Williams yelling my name for the third time this week."
"Ok honey,remember to come home first so that we can head to Heavenly together."She shouted from the kitchen.
Heavenly was our favorite restaurant.We went there anytime we decided to have some mother-daughter time.
It was raining heavily by the time my shift was over at Ethic.I decided to go straightaway to Heavenly since it was just a few blocks away instead of going home first.
I tried calling her after getting there but her phone went to voicemail.Two hours went by and my mum hadn't shown up.I took a cab back home.
I knew she was home because I could see her car on the driveway.
Was she serious?How busy could she have been to make her stand me up?Ok,not technically.....but still....
"She's never going to get an excuse for this," I mumbled as I stomped in the heavy rain.
I closed the door and was getting ready to call her when I saw the unthinkable.Her lifeless body laid on the floor covered in blood.A bullet through her chest.As if that wasn't enough,she had a stab on her stomach.
I quickly called the police. I laid her head on my laps as I cried my lungs out waiting for them to arrive.
"Please stand aside miss,"a man said to me.
I dragged myself to the side and watched them do their job.
"Weapon with one inch radius.Time of death approximately two hours ago."A lady in a jacket written 'Forensic' said.
Two hours?That was the time I was supposed to meet her home.Maybe I would haven't saved her?She was definately waiting for me considering the clothes she was in.Maybe I would still be having my mum with me.

Having the music up,I started the car but failed. I hadn't realized I was crying.The ordeal still had the same effect on me the same way it had a couple of months ago. I tried starting the car again but it wouldn't start.
"Fuck it," I shouted as I hit the steering wheel.
Just then I heard a knock on the passenger's window.
