Poisoned Love

Chapter 4

Khloe's  POV
I woke up to a nice smell of waffles. I sat up in bed and studied the room . This was definitely Olivia's house. Ha! I mean....who else has the guest room painted pink just because they love pink . Ethan must have brought me here because I don't remember doing so. I've always been a heavy sleeper and I certainly hoped I didn't embarrass myself in the process.I dragged myself out of bed and into the bathroom . Looking at myself in the mirror, my eyes were swollen probably because of crying . That was the most stupid thing I've maybe done in twenty years . I had been in Olivia's house a couple of times so I knew my way around. I went to the kitchen  and found her making some coffee.

"High time you woke up....." Olivia said  putting a plate of waffles on the counter.
"Morning to you too." I said as I approached her.
"You look......"
"Don't even say it."I cut her off as I grabbed the plate of waffles.
"You for sure embarrassed yourself,"she said.
"What do you mean?" I asked her almost chocking on the waffles.
"You kept on saying to Ethan you love him hun.....that's nothing to say to a guy you've only met countable times.
"You are joking right?" I asked her.

For the three years we've been best friends with Olivia, I never knew how to differentiate from when she was joking and telling the truth. She always put on a straight face. This was messed up shit.
"Ok sweetie.... I'll be leaving now. I have a few errands to run. You still have your set of keys, right?" She asked.
"And by the way, your car keys are next to the TV." She added.
I nodded. To be honest, my mind was thinking of what else I could have told Ethan.
After taking a shower, I 'borrowed 'some clothes from Olivia's wardrobe. Getting Olivia's house keys from my car , I locked the house and left. I decided to go home and drop off the clothes I had bought the previous day.

It was one hour before my classes began. I was debating on whether I wanted to go or not. Taking a look at the mirror, I decided against it. My eyes were still puffy and there was no way I'd go to school looking like a kid who had watched a horror movie and couldn't sleep. I took my water bottle and went out for a jog to clear up my mind.
I wasn't used to exercising and after covering a few meters I was already panting. I took a seat on the nearest bench I saw to catch a breath.

Ethan's POV
"You need to tell me if anything's bothering you," Cam shouted.
" I already told you there's nothing troubling me." I replied.
"I know you and I can feel there's something wrong with you." She was starting to get in my nerves.

I knew she would continue interrogating me and that's why I chose to leave. I could hear her shouting my name as I opened the car. It was better that way. How else was I supposed to tell her that she was the reason I felt miserable. Change marks us with its beauty. And she was the change.
The main reason we are together is because of our families. They want to be more than just family friends. Our being together helps patch that up. Cam seemed more than thrilled with the idea of us being a couple. Me on the other hand thought that I would grow to love her with time. After all ,I thought it would be easy because she was my best friend since childhood.
I drove to the store to get a couple of things I needed. On my way out of the store, I heard someone call me. Looking back, I saw Khloe. She was running towards me.
" Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for yesterday," she said softly.
"It's ok.... it was nothing." I replied turning to leave.
"And about saying I love you....am sorry, I was just bluffing."
I might not have been paying attention but she definitely didn't say anything of the sort. I decided to play mind games with her.
" So you are like unloving me again," I chuckled.
"What I mean is......"
"It's ok....you never said anything of the sort, " I cut her off.
She looked at me with questioning eyes embarrassment written all over her face. Olivia must have lied to her.
"I better get going now,thanks again ." She waved as she left.
I bet Olivia was going to get a scolding.
Getting in the car,I came back to reality. For a moment, I had forgotten about my problems . With a great sigh I started the car.
