It was only 2 more hours before sunrise, but the young butler of the crown princess of Arendelle is already wide awake, just as he always did for the past twelve years.

His morning routine starts with fixing his bed. And after fixing his bed, he grabs his towel and goes to take a bath, putting on his usual butler outfit afterwards. Now while he knew her mistress would wake up an hour after him, that means he had at least an hour of time to kill. He tugged his doorknob open as he left his room, and out into the hall. He makes his way towards his coworkers' rooms and knocks on each of their doors to wake them up for the day. He then makes his way towards the kitchen to cook himself a spot of breakfast, which consists of a cup of coffee and scramble eggs of his own recipe.

After having his breakfast, he goes out into the castle grounds for his early rounds, when he sees the captain of the castle guards speaking to man wearing sailor's clothes. The grim look they both had meant whatever they were talking was not anything short of good news.

When the captain dismissed the sailor, (Y/N) took this time to approach the captain.

"Pleasant Morning, captain?"

"Master (Y/N)." the captain greeted with a nod. "My morning was pleasant about 6 minutes ago."

"I noticed. What did you and the sailor talked about.?"

The captain of the guards bowed his head for a moment as if in sorrow, before looking back up at the butler. "I believe it would be best to gather everyone in front of the castle doors. Most especially, the princesses."

After hearing the last part of the captain's last sentence, it didn't take (Y/N) a minute to figure out what the captain of the guard was trying to imply.

"Y-You don't mean...."

"I'm afraid so, Master (Y/N). We lost our king and queen to the harsh seas."

They both had a moment of silence as they mourned silently. (Y/N) felt devastated for the first time in his life, the feeling of loss, grief and extreme sadness almost taking him, before he was snapped out of his stupor when the captain of the guards gently laid a hand on the butler's shoulder.

"There's no sense in dilly-dallying now. We must tell them, at once." the butler managed to croak out. "You'll gather the rest of the castle staff, while I will fetch for the princesses."

With a nod, the captain of the guard left to inform the rest of the remaining castle staff to gather in front of the castle doors, while the young butler went back inside the castle to fetch for his mistress and his mistress' sister, Princess Elsa and Anna, respectively.

The morning sun shone through the window of Anna's room, bathing the floor in rich, golden light and creeping across her bed. Anna laid fast asleep, her legs tangled in the sheets and her hair spread out across her pillow, the stray wisps on her face fluttering every time she breathed. Suddenly, there was an urgent rapping on the door, rousing her from her sleep.

"Princess Anna?"

It was (Y/N).

"Yeah?" Anna said, in the middle of a big yawn.

"I hope I'm not disturbing you," he said uncertainly.

"No, no, no, you're not," Anna said, sitting up and stretching. "What is it?"

"You're needed downstairs in the entrance hall right away," (Y/N) replied urgently.

"(Y/N), it's really early right now," Anna said, yawning again. "Can't it wait?"

"I'm sorry, your highness, but it can't," (Y/N) replied briskly. "The captain of the guards wishes to speak with you." He left, his footsteps receding down the hall.
