Chapter 5 Sports Festival II

Izuku's POV:

I had made it I finished the race and came out on top. My name rang out among the
crowd leaving me standing there catching my breath. Todoroki had got here next not even a minute after I did, I turned around and shouted "Good race Todoroki" with a wink quietly enraging him as his face went into a grim expression. Slowly more and more people began filing into the arena again. The top ten resulted in Bakugo coming after Todoroki two class B students coming in after as fourth and fifth. Iida came in at sixth then Tokoyami, Kirishima, Sero, and another Class B student. Though 42 students made it to the next round. Once she got in Uraraka walked over huffing "Since when do you not break your bones and why didn't you tell me" she said catching her breath. I rubbed the back of my neck "Yeah I know I managed to keep my quirk under control during our break and I was leaving it as a surprise for here". By this time Iida had joined us and was congratulating me on getting first place "You did a fantastic job Midoria and
your bones are intact congratulations". I then saw Momo in the background behind Iida she turned towards me and I flashed her a smile and gave her a peace sign to which she returned making me flush a bit. "What was that," Uraraka said looking back between me and Momo making it even worse, "O-o-oh y-yeah so a couple of days ago I ran into Momo at the beach that got mysteriously cleaned up and she almost got hit by  a truck and I was able to save her using my quirk so she was kinda the first one to know
I had gotten it under control" I continued to recall the events of that day at the beach including our dinner which gave Uraraka a mischievous grin "Ohhhhh I see," said with a smirk and a wink. "Wait no it isn't like that were just friends plus I doubt Momo even likes me like that" I tried to recover quickly waving my hands in front of my face to no avail.

3rd Person POV:
The stadium was psyched ready for the next event and there to deliver Midnight began to announce the next event."Alright,42 of you will be moving on to the next round which is...A Cavalry Battle." The crowd went nuts as they did whenever Midnight spoke.
"Those of you at the top will suffer the most as you will hear at UA" she gestured to the green-haired teen in first place, "Izuku Midoria you got first place and therefore you are worth 10,000,000 points" Izuku's smile dropped as all the eyes of his competitors
turned and looked at him like he was food. Izuku thought back to middle school when
the kids would think of him as prey for them to bully do to his quirkless nature. "You score points by stealing headbands which can be worn from the neck up the more you steal the harder it is to see, the rider wears a headband with the total amount of points added up between the team members, starting now you have 15 minutes to get a team
together". As she finished talking all the 42 students began talking to each other coming up with a team except for Izuku he was mumbling to himself thinking of a strategy
"Everyone is gonna be gunning for me since I have the 10,000,000 so it doesn't matter who my teammates are I just have to keep myself protected" he mumbled to himself pacing back and forth then he had an idea and he was sure it would work. He grabbed 3 people and proposed his idea. "Ok so I have a plan that should work if you guys are willing to listen", Izuku proposed as Momo, Iida, and Uraraka looked around at each
other and nodded. "Ok so Momo," he said looking to the young woman "You can create
shields and different gadgets we can use to protect ourselves and the headband", she
nodded taking in the information Izuku then turned to Uraraka and continued "Uraraka you can make us and Momo's items lighter so that we have greater maneuverability" and finally he turned to Iida "And Iida we can use your engines to move us at greater speeds and avoid the other teams". After hearing his plan Momo broke into a smile "That's a really good plan Midoriya I can see that working really well I'm in", Uraraka jumped up with a fist in the air "I'm down Deku ill always be here to help", "As am I" Iidabsaid with a smile. With that, the team began to prepare to win. "Alright, time is up getbready to fight" midnight voice rang out over the crowd. "Get Ready teams as we begin when that light turns green". Her platform lowered making a large flat area and as she walked off The lights flashed red to yellow to green with a loud beep and Izuku had said
"Let's do this as he tied his 10,000,000 point headband to his head.

Izuku's POV:

The light turned green and we prepared for action retreating toward an unoccupied area of the field waiting for someone to go on the attack. As I expected just like the training exercise Kacchan's team was heading straight at us he was bonking Kirishima on the head screaming "Faster Shitty Hair we have to be to crush that nerd". He was coming from the left and on our right was Todoroki he had just taken a team's headband along
the way and was heading right for us. We stayed put trying to come up with a game plan when Kacchan lept off of his team and began flying at using his explosions to
propel him in the air. "Quick Midoriya here" I heard from Momo and I looked down and she handed me medieval-looking circular metal shield. I grabbed it and activated Full Cowling as Kacchan shouted "DIE" sending an explosion at my head to which I blocked
using the shield and at in act of Inspiration from an American hero I saw videos on as a child I chucked the shield like a frisbee at Kacchan causing him to lose focus and
start to fall when Sero's tape caught him and reeled him back as they ran away to steal
other bands. "Good job Deku" Uraraka said from the back. "Thanks now we just have to
keep that up the rest of the game". We kept on moving trying to put some distance
between us and the other teams. We backed off and began to get cornered again by a team from Class B  and Todoroki's Team thinking fast I yelled "Uraraka, Iida we need to pull an emergency exit", they both nodded and Uraraka made us all weightless as Iida used his engines to fly us over the teams and to a zone away from everyone. Before we got too Uraraka groaned out "Release" beginning to look sick. We thought we were safe we
only had 45 seconds left in the battle when from behind skating on Todoroki's ice
Tokoyami used Dark Shado and tore off my headband Todoroki took off his own
headband and tied it around his neck putting the 10,000,000 one on his forehead. I thought we were doomed we only had 30 seconds left for the match when Iida said:
"We can still make it I have a secret move I've kept for this occasion Midoria be ready to
grab that headband." I nodded to him and he whispered "Recipro Burst" and we rocketed at Todoroki. He could barely react he put his left hand up and almost
instinctively fire began to spread up his arm. I used full cowling as we were running and swiped away his hand leaving his defenses open and grabbing the 10,000,000 point
headband and continued to rocket off out of range. We came to a halt and we were all
looking back at Iida in aw "Wow Iida that was amazing" I said. "Yeah Iida that was
insane I've never seen you run like that before", Uraraka looked back at Iida with a
smile. "Thank you I am able to increase my engines at an incredibly high level but they
overheat and I can't use them for a while." As if on cue I turned to see both Kacchan's
team and Todoroki's team coming for us again and before they could make it a buzzer sounded. "That's the end of round two and once again in First Place is team Midoriya" present mics voice rang out. I got off of everyone's arms and we all turned and waved to the crowd. "The first four teams will be moving on, along with Midoria the teams moving
on will be Team Todoroki, Bakugo, and Shinso, congratulations contestants we will now go on a 30-minute break." And with that, the second round of the sports festival was over and I was one step closer to being unstoppable.
