Kageyama dragged his feet as he neared the convenience store, halting at the entrance to take a second glance at the black cat that laid at the front of the store. "meow~" His skin crawled only to grimace about a time where he was scratched by a stray cat that wore the same appearance as the present cat. He shook that thought off of his head and pushed the button on the glass door, "ding dong!" and it slides out of his way, making a bit of a screeching sound because of how old the convenient store was.
"welcome!" A cheery voice emitted from the counter, Kageyama took a glimpse of who the new employee was and he was stunned. The cashier wore a orange-brunette hair that had curls at the end, his smile was so endearing, that anyone who saw it would also have a smile on their face. However, Kageyama did not smile back, instead he was flushed red and could only turn away abruptly making that a very awkward moment.
He cleared his throat to make the suffocating silence less awkward, pacing up and down the isle and then making a beeline towards the drinks. Maybe that shook off some of the tension. He crouched down and pulled the door, only to be met with his long awaited refreshment. Strawberry milk. He picked it up with four fingers checking the labels and to see if the expiry dates are to how he seem fit to his daily consumption.
He grinned at his meticulous work and proceeded to pay for it, before he knew it, he was faced with the orange haired boy, he forgot about how rude of an entrance he made but still admired the orange haired boy's appearance. "Hinata" Kageyama read the name tag on Hinata's left chest area. Hinata perked up at how rough and condescending Kageyama's tone was, it sent shivers down his spine. "y-yes that's me" He mumbled, unsure of whether the blue haired boy was asking a question or just being very judgemental of his name.
Kageyama finally got out of the daze when Hinata waved his hands, "excuse me, but the milk is 200 yen... would you like to pay by card or cash?"
He felt blood rushing up to his cheeks, his ears tingling from embarrassment and he pushed out an answer abruptly once again, "cash.". He wanted to hold a proper conversation with Hinata, he wanted to know more about him, what if he only sees him today? Despite having to be snapped out of his own daze, he decided to be more forward with his approach.
"Uh Hinata right?"
"uh yes, Hinata Shoyo actually."
"that's a cute name-, i mean! sorry for being very awkward and rude but do call me Kageyama, Kageyama Tobio."
"Oh! your name sounds familiar!!"Just then the small television that was at the cashier's counter was announcing an upcoming volleyball tournament that featured the U-19 Japan's National team. The announcer speaking with much articulation and enunciation, "Kageyama Tobio the star player will be competing this time round after a break! I definitely look forward to seeing his jump serve once again!"
Hinata's eyes sparkled and was brimming with excitement.
Can you believe that a carton of strawberry milk would bring two guys together?
