Humming along to the songs on her iPod, Hayley had spent the morning creating her artwork that was due on that day.
Setting her paintbrush down, Hayley tilted her head and studied the canvas in front of her. Art was one of her senior subjects and she enjoyed spending time alone in her room to work on her projects.
Looking over to the clock on her bedroom wall, Hayley furrowed her eyebrows. She had half an hour until she had to be at school.
Running downstairs, the redhead grabbed two bowls from the kitchen and poured some Fruit Loops and strawberry milk into each one. Not the healthiest breakfast, but a delicious one at least.
Heading back upstairs, Hayley stood outside her brother's room. Seeing as she couldn't knock, she spoke close to the door. "Cam, are you up?"
"Give me a bit longer, I need some more sleep" Cam mumbled, his head sunken deep into his pillow.
Juggling both bowls in one hand, Hayley knocked on Cameron's door loudly. "Cameron Williams, there are malnourished, poor kids working their little butts off in sweat shops making your clothes, and they've already been up for six hours! Now would you just get up already?"
"Shut up with that nonsense" Cam yelled out, turning into his side.
Cameron reached his arm out beside his bed, picking up the closest thing to him that was lying on his carpet.
Picking up a textbook, Cam hurled it toward the closed door. His sister was like this most mornings.
"Well if you're going to be like that..." Hayley trailed off, smirking to herself. "Looks like I'm going to have to spit into your bowl. Now we all know how much you love your Fruit Loops."
Hawking, Hayley tried to make it sound as if she was going to spit - she wasn't actually going to, of course. She wasn't a total monster.
Cam, being three years younger than Hayley, knew he couldn't win the fight. Sighing, he gave in and began to get up.
"l've got chewed up cereal and it's about to be in your bowl" Hayley spoke as she chewed, beginning to spit it out slowly and loudly so that her brother would hurry up.
Slipping a shirt on, Cam rushed over to his door and swung it open, all in a the matter of seconds. No one was going to mess with his food!
Hayley sucked up her spit and smiled, giving Cam an approving nod. "Good morning, brother."
"Good morning, Hayley" Cam sighed, taking the cereal from the girl's hand.
Giving the cereal a quick look, Cam was glad that Hayley hadn't actually spit into it. At least that was what he was going to have to assume.

The PA system at Blue Water High played the sound of an all too familiar voice, belonging to none other than Jack Barakat, a popular senior at school.
Jack had always announced the newest gossip and news about the school, via announcing to the whole school - usually without approval.
"The school break is officially over and there's only two months left at Blue Water High until graduaaaattiiioon!" Jack spoke, singing the last word with cheer.
Everyone else at the school groaned at the thought of two long months of school. That was 8 weeks - 60 long days!
"Until that very awesome time, here's a little welcome back music that'll make you wish you were at the beach and not at school" Jack chuckled into the microphone, before airing Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard.
