Chapter 1

"Nandito na si sister!"

I heard laughs the moment my cousin announced my arrival. Theo, my eldest cousin at ang pinaka malapit din sa akin. I smiled and shook my head. Hindi na ako nagpaapekto sa panunukso niya. I know he's just being playful and he didn't mean anything that's offensive.

"Hey, Georgina!"

Wearing a white long sleeves bodycon dress and a white suede mules, I came close to him and gave him a hug. He caressed my jet black hair and gave me a kiss on my cheek. He, then, escorted me to the dining hall.

"You look so fabulous, cous. I bet other people won't think that you're gonna become a nun." He chuckled.

I admit it. I like to dress up. That's the only thing that makes me happy but i will give that up the moment i enter the convent.

"Well, there's only a few months left that you're going to see me like this."

Hindi na siya nakasagot nang sinalubong na kami ng aming pamilya.
The whole family's there, seated on their designated seats.

Nilapitan ko sina mommy at daddy at binati. Nagmano na rin ako kay lolo Greg.

"Good evening po." I greeted as I sat down beside my kuya Ruis.

Tumikhim si Lolo Gregory at nilibot ang paningin.
"Let's eat."

My cousin, Franco immediately started to put things on his plate. He immediately got everyone's attention. Tita Cony whispered something to him then he slowly put the bowl he's holding when he noticed that everyone's looking at him.

"Hala ka, Franco! Lagot ka kay sister George!" Tukso ni Theo sa nakababatang kapatid nito. Franco pursed his lips and looked at me with a crease on his forehead.

I cleared my throat and I straightened my back. We prayed then we started eating.

"You should eat with the family often, Franco. Para hindi mo nakakalimutan na dapat magdasal bago kumain." saway ng mommy niya.

"Ano bang pinagkaka-abalahan mo, Franco? It's been months since you last ate with the family." Our cousin, Ori, suddenly asked. Sinulyapan niya ito at ngumisi.

"I'm doing a lot of things and you don't have to know about it."
Franco looked calm but I know he's kind of annoyed. He doesn't like it when everyone talks about him.

"Well, Franco, you should be more serious in life na. Bawasan na ang paglaan ng oras sa mga bagay na walang kabuluhan."

"Tita, it's okay. I'll talk to him later." I assured tita Cony to stop them from talking more. Alam kong pag napuno si Franco ay mawawala ito ng ilang araw, minsan isang buwan at ayokong mag-alala. Kaya kailangan ko silang pigilan.

"You better talk to this kid, Georgina. Halos hindi na nakinig sa amin ng mommy niya. Sayo lang naman nakikinig yan." Tito Francis added.

Tumango ako. Franco looked at me and shook his head.

"Hey." Napatingin ako kay Jelina nang sipain niya yung binti ko. She raised her brows and smiled widely at alam ko na ang ibig sabihin niyan. I didn't mind her. Kinausap ko na lang ang kuya ko at si Theo tungkol sa business nilang dalawa.

"Ano, ate George? Wanna come with us?" Salubong agad ni Jelina sa akin ng palabas na kami ng dining. She was grinning from ear to ear. Everytime we see each other, niyayaya niya agad akong sumama sa mga kaibigan niya. They party almost everyday.
