Part 1: The Youngling on Batuu

Chapter 1: How A-Akazu got her name

Many people thought A-Akazu was named after the famous philosopher Akazuru, for he was known throughout the outer rim planets as a wise and honorable man. A-Akazu, however, was named after a humble street merchant her parents had met on their honeymoon. His name was Kazu. Kazu, however, didnt sound very beautiful to A-Akazu's parents, so they added an A. The first A in A-Akazu was a naming tradition passed down through her mother, O-Yelina's, culture. She was from a planet called Remoris, a jungle of strange plants and animals, a planet of life.

As was tradition in Remoris, the firstborn child of the family was given a letter at the beginning of their names. Though it wasn't always followed, females would usually have vowels while males had sounds like "ch", "ts" and "kph". The first part would be what your child was destined to be. The week before a mother was to give birth, the Aga, or sorceress, would bless the child in the mothers womb with three gifts. The first gift was a simple one, a blessing of happiness and health. Every baby was gifted this as means of keeping the family safe. The second gift was the gift of Life. This was especially important to Remorians as their planet was full of life. If a child was not properly blessed, the Remorians would weep in fear of losing their child. So it was crucial that all fetuses were given the blessing, as was A-Akazu.

The third blessing was the child's name. The parents brought forth their base name.

"Akazu" Feimoro, the father, humbly expressed to the Aga.

She smiled and placed her hand on O-Yelina's stomach, feeling the young baby kicking and moving within.

"This youngling is destined for greatness..." the Aga said, "but I sense something inside of her."

"What do you sense, wise Aga?" O-Yelina questioned, hope lining her words.

"I sense... midichlorians..." the Aga paused.

"Midichlorians?" Feimoro asked. "Do you mean that-"

"-That your daughter is going to be a Jedi." the Aga answered proudly. "The Fentani Family has a Jedi!" She announced with great Patriotism.

The crowd that had formed cheered with delight. Jedi were a rarity in Remoris.

"I name your daughter, A-Akazu. The A for greatness, hope, prosperity. But also for change, wisdom, and balance." The Aga smiled as she waved her hand over O-Yelina's belly. "May the spirits of life raise her well."

The family looked at each other. For the first time they felt connected to the Force in a way they had never felt.

...
A-Akazu was born less than a week later. She was born with pale skin and big blue eyes. What little hair she had curled on top of her head in a chocolate swirl. Her mother held her close and kissed her head.

"My Jedi..." she whispered into the soft skin of her newborn.
Feimoro looked at the two girls in his life with love as he began to embrace the both of them.

Suddenly, the earth shook. First, a low rumble, then a vigorous thrashing as the ground began to come up from beneath their feet. Dust covered the once green trees, turning them brown and dead looking. In the mist and dust clouds stood a figure. He stood tall. He wore Mandelorian armor and the sound of metal rubbing together disturbed the once peaceful jungle. The clouds cleared, revealing a bounty hunter. His mask had a large gash down the center and his suit was marked even more.

"Where are they?" He asked, his voice the sound of thunder.

The Aga stepped forward with hesitation. She stayed back from the strange man.
