Y/n's pov
The sound of the brush sliding against the old wooden floor of the church was the only noise you could hear. After all most of the towns people were either working on their land or they were still sleeping. I scrubbed the floor faster trying to finish my work early . The orphanage didn't really feel like a group home it felt more we were slaves. The only way to be treated more humanly was to win the favor of the Preacher. That gross disgusting pig of a man he would choose girls and boys as young as 5 years and use them for his pleasure. Often times these kids would die from the amount of horrible things he would do to them that there little bodies could handle. I use to pry and pry to god that he would stop , that he would kill the preacher. After I turned 8 he took my closet friend Chole and forced himself on her . She later became pregnant with his child. She was only 8 . The preacher convinced the town folks that she had forced herself on him and that she was a witch who had put a spell of lust over him . She and her unborn child were burned to death in front of a church. It was at that moment I realized the god was equal and he wasn't fair . He was a god that favored males . He had abandoned us all long time ago. I started reading all the text I could get my hands on and later started practicing the dark crafts as the church called them . I couldn't do anything crazy yet but I could heal people and I could turn into small pry animals like small birds , bunnies and a fawn occasionally. I finished scrubbing the floor and carried my bucket to pour out . I throw the filthy water out the door in a swing motion. I quickly put the bucket away and headed to the back of the church where the animals where keep. I grab a basket for the eggs and a clean bucket for the milk . I gather all the eggs and milked the cows fairly quickly. I was in quite a rush since there was still much to do . I walked into the the kitchen to see Lilly already heating up water and starting to prepare breakfast fast .
Y/n :hey I brought the eggs and the milk what's left to do around here .
Lily: A lot , I just started cooking the soup and heating up the water for tea . I also started baking the bread .
An hour or so later me and Lilly managed to set up the table and prepare the meals.
