I stared at myself in the mirror, wiping my makeup off with one of Victoria's Victoria secret face wipes. I couldn't believe she hung out with Ace fucking Will and didn't tell me, thinking I wouldn't know. He was definitely something else, I would know.
He was so, hot and sexy, I didn't know Vicky even spent time with guys. I mean, she was too caught up in all her big exams and homework and getting straight A's to care about guys. I had a feeling that she was going to fall for Ace.
"So what was so important that came up which caused you to skip school?
My ears perked up to the sound of Victoria asking Ace a question. She was asking about what had come up which caused Ace to bunk of school for the whole day. I raised my eyebrows at myself in the mirror and threw the wipe into the bin. Goal. Fuck yes. I washed my hands under the running tap and turned it off, waiting to hear Ace's answer.
It took a while for him to answer. But when he did, I didn't even believe him.
"I stole a car," Ace mumbled, loud enough for me to hear. I made a face. Of course Ace wouldn't steal a car. "I've fucking stolen a god damn car."
"What?" came Vicky's answer. "Well, why in the world would you possibly want to do that?"
I was then starting to doubt whether or not, Ace had actually stolen a car. And when I heard his explanation, I had an odd feeling in my gut, which was clearly telling me that there were no lies coming from his mouth.
"I needed money. After I stole the car, I sold it," he mumbled, forgetting I could possibly hear. I gasped slightly, careful that they couldn't hear me overhearing their personal conversation. Why would Ace even tell Victoria these things? I guess they were closer than I had thought.
"But the money isn't for me Vicky. It's for my mum. You know she has lung cancer. She's finally going for the chemo and she's actually getting better. But we have no more valuable money left for her to continue. Because my fucking dad got fired from his work. I need this god damn money."
I heard Victoria mumble something. "Well, do you know who's car you stole?" she asked him, under her breath. I could hear the nervous quiver that was evident in her question. Ace didn't answer that until about a minute or two later.
"I can't tell you."
"Ace!" I heard Victoria hiss. "What's wrong with you? Just tell me."
"You're going to hate me."
"I could never do that. You know that."
His voice dropped down low. But not low enough for me to not hear: "Holly. Her dad. His car."
Wait-- what?
My jaws dropped and my eyes widened. I was feeling the sudden urge to pry open this stupid bathroom door and grab him by his t-shirt and just strangle him until he died.
Was he for real?
He stole my dad's car. My dad's only car. He'd been saving up for it for around three years and now it's gone. For Ace's mother to get chemo? I didn't know what to think. He needed the money for his mum to get better, because apparently she had lung cancer-- but what the fuck?
I had enough of hearing their little conversation. Victoria never told me any of this? Some best friend she was. I broke out of the bathroom through the door way and saw Victoria hugging Ace. I rolled my eyes and gritted my teeth together.
"Guys, I just had a text from my mum and she needs me back home for something. I can't sleepover tonight, Vick. I'm sorry," I explained as quickly as possible.
I grabbed my coat, bag and my phone from Vicky's bed side table and shuffled out of the door immediately. "Bye!" And before they could have the chance to reply, I had already staggered down the stairs and slammed the front door.

Ace looked at me after Holly had left all of a sudden. He widened his eyes and stood up. "Holly must've heard us," Ace mumbled, not able to look at me the eye. "Shit, that's why she left. She didn't even have her phone in the bathroom. It was right on your bedside table. I fucking swear down."
I bit my lip. "Don't worry. She's my best friend. I'm sure she won't tell her parents- or the police - about anything. Trust me, I know her. She won't. Calm down, Ace."
No, I wasn't sure. It was her dad's car he stole. Ace was down right dumb! I remembered Holly telling me about the car and how her dad worked extra hard for his first BMW.
Ace sighed and finally looked at me. "Fuck" he laughed, probably completely forgetting about the car stealing subject. I couldn't believe his actually stole a car. And not just any car, Holly's dad's car.
"Are you still sleeping here tonight?"
Ace bit his lip again. It was so sexy. I'm sorry, but it really was. "Yeah, about that. Seeing as Holly's now gone, can I sleep in your bed?"
I let out a fake cough. "No Ace. I'm not letting you sleep in my bed while I'm in it too. You're either taking the floor, or the couch, on the other side of my bedroom. Or you could sleep in -gasp your beautiful slash dull bedroom, which is right there," I said, motioning to his bedroom. "No offence by the way."
Ace sighed. "None taken. Please can I sleep in your bed with you?" he whined. I groaned, stuffing my face in my hands. I rubbed my tired and painful and swollen and black eyes and lifted my head back up just in time to see Ace clamber into my bed next to me. I frowned and shifted away from him with a worried expression.
"What are you doing?" I said, grabbing my pillow to shelf myself. "It's not even ten yet, don't sleep here!"
Ace moaned. "Please, Vicky. My mum is gonna kill me when she sees the amount of money in my closet!" he said, tugging on my arm.
"I doubt she'll even be looking in your closet with lung cancer," I muttered. Ace looked up at me with puppy eyes.
I sighed and let out a big puff of breath. "Fine," I muttered.
He cheered. "Yay."
Around an hour later, we were both sitting against the headboard of the bed. Then he hugged me. I frowned at him. He looked up at my frowning and grinned at me. Then I looked at him brown sparkling orbs and smiled back. The next thing I knew, we were both leaning in. Was this actually fucking happening?
Really?
No.
I watched as his eyelids fluttered close. So I closed my too. My lips were just about to touch his when a loud noise came from outside of my bedroom. I jumped away from him, afraid, when I saw the police. A lot of them were looking angry as hell.
"Holy shit," I whispered, my lips trembling. I brought my hands up to my mouth and covered my lips.
"Put your hands behind your head!" one screamed at Ace. I fell off the bed in shock and trembled against the wall. I watched as Ace put his hands up behind his head. His facial expression was bored like he'd been through this a hundred times. Oh god, what if he had been through this a hundred times? He was a bad boy after all.
"Ace Ryder Will, you are under arrest for the stealing of possession."
My lips quivered. I was afraid. Ace sighed and held his hands out for the police to handcuff him. They did. I watched as they led him out of the room. My mum stood there, with her red nose and a scrunched up tissue in her hands.
Oh god.
