I heard him chuckle creepily before walking back out the door and slamming it shut behind him leaving me alone in this cold, dark room.

It has been an hour since that other man left and my stomach felt empty. I was so hungry!

Just then the door burst open and a man walked towards me.

I wanted to kick him in the balls and rip out his hair for kidnapping me last night. He walked to the right side of the room and I heard two clicks before a dim lit lamp turned on.

The warm but dim light wasn't very bright but it gave enough light to barely see the guys face.

"Hi my name is Jace and this is the food I'm supposed to give you."

I ignored the polite tone in his voice and snapped back "you know yesterday was my birthday."

"Well happy late birthday then." He half smiled

Why is he acting nice? Does he expect me to say thank you? I think tf not.

He came a few feet away for where I was sitting criss-cross-apple-sauce on the bumpy concrete and kneeled down and pushed a plate with some chicken and mashed potatoes on it.

"I'm not hungry" I say in a flat but stern tone

Right after my stomach betrays me and growls.

He sighs "you have a lot to learn."

As he stands up and starts walking back towards the door he tells me without turning around

"Eat. You will need your strength for what is to come."
