(I'mma just change the lyrics for the story.)

When I'm rife with devastation there's a simple explanation.

I'm a Fate formed abomination, trapped inside this Anti-void.

And however way she grabs me, I must stand by and never speak.

She already broke my spirit as I sang this foolish song.

When I was a little skele, we never made it up into the city.

So you pushed him off of that very bridge, said "Fools shouldn't live without any real sins."

Still, we fell down in as well and spent our days in that hell.

Now your memories are blurred and my face is obscured but I still know the words to this song.

When you witness your whole world die, and no one believes in your job, listen to the gentle swaying of my very blue strings.

Yes, my cords are paralyzing and the worlds are patronizing.

So please Chara's, stop your crying and just sing along with me~

 (I know I'm weird...)

(I want to see your guesses on the Au Error and his brother are from just from the song. I'm curious.)

 Now, on to the story!

-------------------------------------

 One month...

One month since Gaffe was assigned his mission. Since Gaffe had been moved from the Anti-void and taken to Nightmare's mansion. Since he had seen or heard any sign of his "brother", Error.

Sitting in the dark of his given room, staring a the oak wood door. Ever since he was separated from Error, he's been feeling... strange? He doesn't know how to describe it. Lost... Confused? Is that the correct word? Something was missing, maybe his jacket? Before he left, Error had taken it before he could say anything, didn't give a reason and Gaffe never questioned it.

A soft knock pulled him from his thoughts. "Come in." The door creaked open, Cross peeked in. "Dinners ready, come on." A bored look on his face. Gaffe only nodded back, quickly standing to follow the other.

The hallway was quiet, as usual. Soft footsteps bouncing off the smooth mat walls, alerting anyone who was near. Neither occupant made to start conversation, taking a liking to the silence. Gaffe had grown used to the dark environment, Nightmare liked it that way. It's probably easier for him to get around like that.

Still, it's been too long since he's seen Error. The others were tight lipped about his whereabouts, constantly diverting the topic or simply ignoring his questions. He didn't dare ask Nightmare anything, the other would probably start yet another drawled out argument with him about how nosy and useless he was...

 Asshole.

His gaze hardened, burning imaginary holes into the back of Cross's head. Out of all the members, Cross was the nicest to him, not to say the others treat him bad. They try to avoid him as much as possible. Interacting with him only when they need to or are told to by their leader. But that doesn't stop them from messing with his head. Gaffe can't count how many times he's questioned his sanity in this place.

The worst Cross has done to him was steal his dessert or accidentally stare him down without knowing. He actually greets Gaffe whenever he enters a room and starts small talk with him sometimes. Gaffe didn't have any problems with Cross. The real problem was the others.
