Getting the role

Winter break was over and I had gotten a Nikon camera for Christmas. After that I became obsessed with taking pictures of everything I wanted to remember. Everything beautiful I took a picture of. When we got back from break I was in math class when the office lady came and said, "Emma Sterling please come with me." I got nervous. Was I in trouble. I tried to recall anything I did that was bad but I couldn't think of anything. We went into the hallway outside. I looked up and saw the kids from the audition! With a couple of adults. A woman who was with them looked at me and said, "my name is Cathrin Anderson and you are Emma?" I nodded. "Wonderful! We are here to inform you that you have got the role of Chrissy on Henry danger if you want it." How could I not want it! I thought that this wasn't real. This was all in my head. "Of course there are a couple of things you should know. First, this is a fairly large part and you have to be willing to devote a good amount of time to memorizing your lines. Second, the set is in San Diego so you would have to be willing to live in California for a while. And thirdly, you would hv be to be homeschooled on set so we can get you when we need you." That last part worried me. I'm always hearing how kids who are homeschooled never get as good an education as kids who go to public school. "Now I know this is a lot to think about, so I will give you two days to think about it before making a decision." And with that, she turned and left. The kids start looking at me then one of them speaks. She had dark skin and dark curly hair. She had brown eyes and she smiled at me. "I'm Riele Downs, I play Charlotte on Henry danger." She shook my hand and I introduced myself. Then the boy next to her spoke he had short curly brown hair and blue eyes and he said, "And I'm Sean Ryan Fox, I play Jasper." Again I shook his hand. The adult was tallish and he had town hair and he said "I'm Cooper Barnes, I play Ray aka Captain Man." I started giggling and he looked at me. "Sorry!" I said. "I'm not laughing at you! It's just the last kid I met named Cooper is in my class and he always freaks out." The little girl introduced herself as Ella and then the blond boy said his name was Jace Norman. I thanked them but then class got out and I went to my locker and then I found Alisha and Caroline. At first I started slowly and sadly as I said, "so you know how I auditioned for that TV show?" They nodded. "Well they just got back to me and they said that I did really well..." Then I nearly shouted, "I did well enough to get the part!" They both screamed and we started jumping like little kids. "You're going to be on TV!" Alisha shouted and we started doing our victory dance we made up in PE. "Wait!" I shouted and we froze. "This means that I have to move to California." I said sadly and their faces dropped. "But it's not for forever right?" Caroline asked. "Well if I want to continue a career then it might have to be." I started to realize what the woman meant when she said I should think about it. "Well we're not going to stop you from catching you're dreams!" Alisha said. "You got the part go for it!" She said. I could tell that she didn't want me to leave, but what was I supposed to do? This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I couldn't turn it down just because my friends would miss me. What was I supposed to do? Later I called my grandmother because she was the one who took me to the audition. "Grandma? I know I got the part but do you think I should take it? Should I really leave everything and everyone I know behind?" I asked. She replied calmly, "Emma I know that you will miss being here, but you were meant to do great things and you're not going to to do anything if your stuck in the middle of nowhere Vermont! You have this chance! Take it! Go live your dream go be who you were meant to be!" She was right I had to do this. My parents already were told everything and I accepted the role. I would have to stay with a host family while I was there because my parents couldn't move across the country. I had knots in my stomach. Everything was about to change.
