"Are you sure you're not chicken enough to play Koya!" Shouted my annoying older brother as we played. That's his nickname for me, but my name is Koyagime, and currently, we're outside playing with the volleyball my brother got for Christmas a few months ago.
"Can we just play oniisan? I want to try catching it!" I was eager to play with a volleyball for the first time, seeing as how Kageyama, my older brother by a year, was always hogging the ball to himself.
"Alright, don't say I didn't warn you during breakfast!" Once he said that, he threw the ball towards me, and I caught it! A wave of excitement washed through out my body as I looked at the ball in my hands.
"Stop staring at it and throw it back!!" Kageyama yelled. I happy obeyed and threw it back at him.

We've been going at the same practice of throwing the ball at each other for a good 45 minutes until our mother called us in for snack.
"Come on you balls of energy, stop playing and come eat your snacks, you need a break."
I turned my head towards my mother as she was standing in the doorway while looking at us with her arms crossed.
"One more!" Said Kageyama, and I wasn't really prepared for it, but I tried my best. What I didn't realize was that he threw the ball with an immense amount of force. Once I turned my head towards him, the ball made a strong impact to my right eye, and unfortunately, it was wide open.
I screamed in agony as the ball made impact with my eye, and soon tears were streaming down my face due to the pain. Both Kageyama and my mother came rushing towards my fallen and crying form on the ground as I held my eye. My mother tried to take a look at the damage but quickly stopped once she saw blood mixed with my tears.
"Go call an ambulance Kageyama, and quickly!" My mother looked as if she was about to cry as well seeing how much pain I was in. I felt the blood seep onto my hand as I held my eye. Soon, everything looked fuzzy and I felt lightheaded. Soon enough, I passed out.

I woke up on a white hospital bed that was in the corner of a pale blue room that had white wall trim on the bottom. My mother was sitting next to me in a cushioned chair while sleeping peacefully. I nudged her arm a few times until her eyes fluttered open and she saw me squeezing her arm with confused eyes.
"How do you feel? Are you okay? Do you feel any pain? Do you need anything?" My mother bombarded me with questions so I covered her mouth with my hands and looked into her eyes with a determined look.
"Mom, I am okay! I can hardly feel my eye, so I'm fine! I just want to play again, and again, and again until I'm the best volleyball player in the world!" After my statement, I felt a sense of pride as I looked into my mother's eyes after I removed my hands from her mouth
We spoke for a while about my condition, and where my two siblings were. Kageyama wasn't my only sibling, I had another older sister, who's name is Anzu Tokei. We adopted her about a month ago when something bad happened to her, but I love her as if she's my blood related sister! She was asleep throughout the entire time until our mom called her down to let her know where we're going.
Eventually after staying in the hospital for a day, I was able to leave and go home to my family! I missed my dad, brother, and sister very much because I was away from them for the whole day! Throughout the car ride I had a wide grin on my face, despite the tinge of pain I would get while giggling in my eye. Apparently, I had to get surgery so I wouldn't go blind, but now it's a different color from my left eye. Doctors said I won't be able to see it until 3 years later, when I'm 7.
Pulling into the driveway gave me another wave of happiness, hoping I would see my siblings and father waiting for me in the living room, or directly at the door. Once my mom unlocked it, I rushed inside and was greeted with many hugs and shouts of happiness. Tokei looked as if she was on the verge of tears, but I couldn't tell because she was much taller than me. Once we all let go, my father had started to ask me questions as well, until my mother tapped him on the back of his head while he was kneeling down to look at me eye-to-eye.
"Alright alright, leave the girl alone, she just got back from the hospital."
"Fine, but can I at least take her to bed?" Said my father, with a pout evident on his face. My mother nodded in agreement and soon I was swept off my feet and hung on his shoulder. We laughed and giggled until we made it to my room that was a bit of a mess.
"Don't worry about the mess, just change into your pajamas and rest." My dad looked at me with kindness in his eyes, but it still reminded me of how much he and Kageyama look alike. It should be illegal!
Once I finished changing my clothes, I quickly crawled into bed and watched as my father put the last remaining toy away.
"Alright, you need to rest up my little Koya fish."
"But I'm not tired!" I whined, fighting off the sleepy urge in the back of my head.
"A father always knows when their child is sleepy, and its obvious from your slightly parted eye that you want to sleep." My pout only grew bigger because I was mad at the fact that he knew. How does he find out?!
"Fine, I'll go to sleep.." I yawned after my words and soon enough, I drifted into the wonderful dream land of my mind.
