He laughed hysterically on his own beside the embankments outside the kitchen.
"Interesting." He whispered.

[ Alyana's POV ]
The sun is up and so was I. I came around late today, unlike the usual time I rise which is at 6 am. Now it's 8 in the morning and I know that Levi will surely scold me when I go down to the training grounds later. Sometimes our body needs a good enough rest to function properly but if you're in military service, considerations and sufficient recess is not an option. Not even once.
I sit up to my bed and do little stretches to crack some of my bones. Also checking if my spinal cord is still intact after all the nonstop cuisine duties last night. I swear to the walls, today I'm in no mood for training. I just wanna take a decent bath, eat, breathe in some fresh air, and go back to sleep.
The sun's light passes through the windows, giving our dorm some kind of silhouette. Providing radiant to every intersection of the room. I admire every single niche of our cabin though it was too shabby and chaotic unlike my room at the cafe. I have taken likeness to this room as if it were my real residence. It saddens me to think that there is a considerable possibility that I am to vacate all of this and go back to my birthplace. I have come to my senses when a sudden knock was heard outside the room.
*knock*
*knock*
*knock*
"Who is it?" I asked after I heard the soft knockings. "It's Mikasa. Are you finally awake?" she asked as she slowly comes inside the room. "Not quite sure about that. I kinda feel like an exhausted grandma right now." I slightly chuckled.
"So I was right on time, then," Mikasa stated.
"For what?"
"Here take this. It's for you. Your grumpy man asked me to check on you and deliver this. Never thought I'd ever see him this romantic." She gestured you a silver tray with a cover on top of it. "Well, I'll be taking my leave now. Enjoy." Mikasa said before relinquishing the shabby dorm.
I placed the tray on top of my bed and deliberately opened the cover to see what could be the inside of it. There I saw freshly baked bread, butter on the side of the plate, utensils, a hot lemon tea, and lastly a note. I unfolded the paper only to see such neat handwriting.
Yeah, this gorgeous handwriting? This is definitely from him...
Oi sleepyhead,
Why on the damn earth would you not eat before going to bed? Good thing I still recall some easy recipe you taught me.
It's the least I can do so gobble up and don't you dare complain about the taste, brat! I had to make these quick at dawn to avoid that psychopathic titan addict from seeing me cooking.
Wrote this letter cuz I won't be seeing you a lot today. Erwin's back and so is the heavier chores. Take your day off today. I'll see you around, love.
- Levi
" *Sigh* Seriously, what would I do without this grumpy man?" I could not help but feel these butterflies flying around my stomach as I slowly fold back the note from Levi. My heart surely flutters from his unforeseen sweetness towards me.
