Will I Survive?

CHAPTER 5

After standing on the balcony for sometime and gathering myself, I go back downstairs to see the reception almost coming to an end as I could see some people starting to leave.

"Oh honey where have you been?" I hear a voice say from behind me. I turn around and see Vernon's mom standing there.

"I just went to the balcony because all this crowd was getting a bit overwhelming." I told her.

"That's alright I understand I was just like that when I was getting married to Vernon's father." She told me.

"Was your marriage arranged?Just like mine?" I asked her. Maybe she could tell me what her expirence was and I could have some help on how to go through with this marriage.

"Yes it was dear. But that's a story for another day right now I want you to meet a family that is very close to ours and I want you to know that this is the only family you can trust after ours." She told me.

I just nodded and followed her. I saw is approaching a family of four. Parents and two sons.

When we reached them Mrs.Aresco started intoducing me to them.

"Lavender this is Rickard Severin and Annalise Severin" she said pointing to the parents "and these are their sons. River Severin the older one and Jacob Severin the younger one."

"And everyone this is Lavender Aresco Vernon's wife." She intorduced me.

" It is nice to meet you all." I told while plastering a small smile on my face. Although I was completely uncomfortable but i didn't let it show on my face. Meeting new people just gave me anxiety and make me feel like they are watching my every move.

After talking a little more with them I told Mrs.Ar- I meant Elisa -she told ms to call her by her name because she feels okder than she is when i formally address her-that I was tired  and wanted to go to my room. She told me the way and I was on my right now to my room.

When I reached the door I was so relieved to just open this door and crash on the bed and let everything around me fade away and for some hours take me away from this reality.

But when I opened the door the sight in front of me made me stop in my tracks and just stare at what was happening in front of me. I don't think they heard me come in so I closed the door quitely and went to find and empty room to crash in for the night. Because when I opened the door I saw Vernon making out with some other girl.

And it was then that the truth from his words earlier hit me. 

Listen to me Lavender and listen good. These "things" that you are deserate for, well get over them because I can assure you such kind of treatment isn't for people in the mafia or associated with the mafia."
