BOOM

CRASH

The rain was falling hard. You couldn't hear anything but the harsh wind, beating rain, and booming thunder. Your flashlight barely worked against the blinding sheets of rain, emitting only a small amount of light. Only through the flashes of lightning could you see where you were going.

"Selene! Where are you?"

You were looking for your cat, Selene. She was a fluffy white and grey Norwegian Forest Cat with stunning green eyes (photo above). She often wandered around at your old house, but she was never gone for this long. Both of you were new to Musutafu, Japan. In fact, you were new to all of Japan. Selene must have gone out to explore but got lost. You didn't want to admit it, but you were lost, too. You were ready to give up, but then something shiny caught your eye. You ran over to the mysterious object, finding a small, lilac collar with a tag.

Wait... this is Selene's collar! She must be near by!

You wondered how she could've gotten her collar off, but shrugged the thought away. Cats are very good at getting themselves into trouble.

"Selene! Here, kitty kitty kitty! Spspspspsps!"

You starting picking up your pace, eager to find her. Your shoes and socks and everything else were already soaked, so what was the point trying to not splash into any puddles?

You ran for a bit longer, until suddenly you felt a sharp pain in your left ankle and fell sideways onto the ground.

Shit. Your ankle hurt like hell. You tried to stand up, but promptly fell back down again. You sighed in defeat, and just laid on the cement. Someone would find you, and you knew Selene could survive on her own. Besides, the cold rain on your skin felt kind of nice and relaxing. You closed your eyes for a split second, before opening them back up when you heard a door being opened.

"What the hell," an unknown feminine voice asked.

You sat back up with a jolt, realizing someone had found you. You frantically looked around, but before you could say anything, the person ran up and crouched down next to you. This person had blue-grey eyes and glasses. Her hair was white hair with lines of red and pulled back into a ponytail. She had a face wearing concern and worry.

"Hey, are you okay? You're just laying down outside in the middle of a thunderstorm! You could get hurt!"

Heh, I already am. You thought to yourself, but didn't actually say out loud.

"Yeah, I-I'm fine," you replied with a smile.

"Then... why are you just sitting there?"

... uhhhh

You tried to stand again, and almost fell before a strong pair of arms caught you. You jumped, looked up and saw a tall person with spiky white hair and piercing grey eyes.

"Woah there, be careful," the man said with a gentle, toothless and closed-eye smile. "Let's get you inside before we all catch colds."

The woman began to speak, "yes, I agree. You must be freezing, being drenched in all this rain."

The man lifted you up, and carried you bridal style into a house. You couldn't help but be grateful for these kind people while also embarrassed at the same time.
