*After the fight between Byakuya and Renji during Rukia's execution thing.*

Renji's P.O.V:

'Did I really think I'd be able to save Rukia, to go against Kuchiki Taicho and get through to him? To get him to see what's gonna happen to his sister, did I really believe that if I worked hard enough I'd be good enough to walk beside him? He truly is the moon, graceful and magnificently finds a way to light up the dark, but no matter what his unreachable.'

I try to lift myself up to only fall back down again. The shifting causes Kuchiki Taicho's scarf to fall over my eyes and cover my vision with white. It feels like all my organs are shredded and the blood flowing out of my body matches the colour of my hair. My tatoos now covered in the red liquid as I hang on to the bit of life I have left.

'Is this really the end? Who would've thought that sliced into ribbons by Senbonzakura would be the way I go out. Atleast my fangs reached him a bit, he acknowledged my hardwork, I mean I finally achieved Bankai! Wow... I'm gonna die after only using it once... Karma you bitch. He didn't say the words I so desperately wanted to hear though... Was he proud? Was I finally good enough?'

My eyelids started to droop from exhaustion and bloodloss. The warm embrace of death welcoming me as I drift further and further into unconsciousness. I send one last prayer to whatever deity who can help, that Kurosaki saves Rukia. I utter my last words and moments before my consious slips away..

"I guess the monkey will never be able to reach the moon..."

*Timeskip to after Rukia is saved and shit, Renji is in Squad4 barracks not Byakuya.*

Byakuya's P.O.V:

As I sit next to the bed where my Fukutaicho is resting I think of how the fight with Kurosaki Ichigo has caused me to see the error in my ways. Looking at the state Abarai Fukutaicho is in makes my heart sink a bit, knowing I'm the one that left him for dead on that bridge after he's worked so hard, going as far as to be able to use Bankai, to show me his worth.

'I truly am sorry Abarai, I hope you will still follow me and see me as your Taicho after all my mistakes...'

I was taken out of my thoughts by groan from the redhead infront of me. His amber eyes slowly opening and squinting to adjust to the light in the room. His face takes an expression of suprise and slight fear as he spots me sitting next to his bed, looking at him, though I am sure he is more shocked at being alive.

"Uhm.. Do you need anything Taicho?" Renji asks with soft voice that is the complete opposite of his usual confident and joyful tone.

"No Abarai, I am here to check on my Fukutaicho, so make sure to get the rest you need to be able to return to your duties." I say in a stern, but somewhat caring voice as I stand up to leave and inform Unohana Taicho of Renji's conciousness.

I hear a slight breathy chuckle from behind me as I turn to see to see Abarai smiling at me.

"Hai Taicho, I'll be up in no time."

Renji's P.O.V:

"Hai Taicho, I'll be up in no time."

I shift my gaze to the ceiling before taking a deep breath before continuing.

"Taicho? Is Rukia okay?"

"She is fine Abarai, she will visit you shortly until then rest-" I hear the door opening and look to Taicho standing at the door with an almost unreadable expression as he we lock gazes. "-and congratulations on achieving Bankai Abarai Fukutaicho, but your hardwork should not stop there. Recover swiftly... Renji"

Taicho sends me a tiny smile, almost to small to see, before exiting the room and closing the door. I cast my gaze to the scarf on the bedside table.

'Maybe just maybe I'll be able to walk by your side someday Kuchiki Byakuya. Till then, stay my motivation and keep inspiring me to push myself past my limits.'

Okay so that was pt.1 where Renji still only admires our favourite cold hearted bishh!! I'm kinda proud of myself for this🙈❤.
