"Do you have everything you need for the summer?" My dad asks me.

"Yes I do." I say with a grudge.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"What's with all the questions?!" I ask angrily.

"I just haven't seen you in a while and I want to know things about you, is that a crime?" He asks.

"Sorry I just haven't seen you in a while, like you said so I am sort of angry." I say with a frown.

"I know and I'm sorry too." He replies with a slight smile.

I smile back, even though I feel like screaming.

"So do you want to stop and get some icecream or something?" He asks.

"Im fine." I say.

It's quiet now, really quiet.

"So how far is your house?" I ask just to break the silence.

"Oh, it's a lake house near lake Michigan."

"Cool." I say even though I want to say something else.

"So you leave us to get a fucking lake house!!" I think to my self.

"Have you had a good time in high school?" He asks.

"Yea, it's not as hard as people say it is." I reply.

"Good." He says with a smile.

We talk for a while, then I see the lake.

"Are we close?" I ask, already knowing the answer.

"Yes, it is a couple houses down."

Then I see a house, a big.... no massive house on a hill.

"Is that it?" I say anxious to find out if I'm going to be staying there.

"Yes, I know it's a little small." He says sarcastically

I laugh.
