"Adrienne!" I hear my mother yell.
"Coming." I reply back.
"Hurry your father will be here any minute to pick you up." She says with urgency.
"I'm ready to leave." I say while I make my way downstairs with the five bags I carry in my hands.
"Need any help Sweetie?" She forwards with a smile.
"Please..." I begin to say as I drop a bag and it rolls down the stairs.
"Oh great." I mumble to myself, not only the fact that I had dropped a bag but the fact that I would be fine not going to my dad's house this summer, I haven't seen him in over a year and he hasn't even called me once.
"Adrie can I talk to you?" My mother asks me.
"Sure." I reply.
"I know you and your father haven't had the best relationship in the past but if you just spend a little time with him maybe that will change, you never know if a person has changed if you don't try to spend time with them or even talk to them." She tells me.
"I know I'm excited to see him again." I lie.
"Ok I'm just worried that you are going to push yourself away from your father even more, last time you spoke to him you didn't eat for several days and me and you father were both worried." She says.
"I know and I've apologized many times must I apologize again?" I say with a small frown.
"He cares about you, you know that right?" She questions me.
"Does he?" I think to my self but reply, " Of course."
I look out of the window to the road and there he stands.
"Ugh.." I think to my self.
