Chapter 2: A Great Journey

The next day

Sonic wakes up early at 4:30 AM to get to business. He had to start up the whole building so that people could come in. He sped through the building turning those needed on. The door functionality, elevator, computer power source and the big satellites for getting reports on dangers. After that, he heads outside to meet up with everyone and let them inside. But he was just waiting mainly for Amy so he can spend time with her. Amy arrived first to Sonic's surprise. She waved at Sonic and he followed Amy to her office so he could talk to her about something. But as soon as Sonic could even walk, Sapphire approaches him giving him a report for him to go to. Sonic asked what it was and she responded with a severe destruction of an entire city about 6000 km to the east of them. Sonic thought for a second. Since the entire city was wiped, maybe it's something really big. He decided to go with other people, so he brought Knuckles, Rouge and Amy. Tails had to stay back and take care of the whole HQ along with Cream to which they agreed with. The team got ready for the big adventure and set off at 7:00 AM.

"Hey Sonic, how long is the trip?" Asked Knuckles

"Well, I don't know, maybe like 2 weeks?" Responded Sonic

"What!" Amy walked tiredly, breathing for air.

"Amy, if you want, I can carry you from walking," Offered Sonic, "I mean I did warn you guys"

"That would be nice," Amy responded

Sonic went in front of Amy and kneeled offering a piggy back ride and waited till Amy got on. Amy gets on and leans on Sonic having a rest on his soft back. After 1 hour of walking, they decided to make camp since the sun was going down and they were tired of walking. Sonic grabbed a tent and set his up and helped with Knuckles' one as well. They decided to bring two so that it doesn't take too much space in their bags. Amy and Sonic decided to stay in one tent while Rouge and Knuckles slept in another.

At 10 pm

It was 10 pm and the gang headed off to go to bed. Amy and Sonic headed inside their tent while the others went in the other tent. Amy and Sonic get tucked in next to each other about 45 cm apart looking at each other. Sonic quickly dose off to sleep while Amy stayed up. She couldn't sleep so she decided to head out and just look at the stars until she sleeps. She brings her sleeping bag outside lies it next to the fire and just lies down looking up. Rouge hears her doing this and joins her outside with the sleeping bag as well.

"Hey Amy," Rouge whispered bringing out a sleeping bag

"Hey Rouge, what brings you out here?" Asked Amy

"Well, I heard you coming out here for an unknown reason so I decided to join," responded Rouge.

"Oh, right," Amy said in a sad tone

"Anything wrong?" Rouge asked

"Rouge, have you ever felt love?" Amy looked at Rouge with a face with no expression.

"Yeah, with Knuckles, he seems so nice towards me, and is strong" Rouge responds looking straight up, "wonder if he's going to even surpass Sonic"

"Well I've been having feelings for Sonic, you see, whenever Sonic is there for me, he always smiles and never gives up saving me from anything, I feel like he's the one I should be with, but I'm afraid that he will say no when I confess," Amy says tearing up with fear.

"Amy, it's ok, once you confess to him, no matter the outcome, you will always be friends with us at all times," Rouge responds with a happy and encouraging tone.

The girls had a conversation like this for 5 minutes and then went back to sleep hoping the boys didn't eaves drop.

The next day

The gang woke up, packed everything up and quickly moved towards the city. It took about 2 weeks to get there and when they arrived, they saw nothing but broken towers, smashed window, and basically injured people roaming the city.

"Holy crap, whoever did this, must have way too much power," Knuckles said, "more power than you Sonic"

"That's what it seems to be, let's go check it out," Sonic and the other went towards the wrecked city.

They patrolled the entire city, it was massive, so massive that Sonic couldn't even believe someone with this much power if not more would exist. Everyone saw the gang patrolling and just looked, with frightened expressions. Sonic felt sorry, he feels like if he was here to save everyone, he wouldn't succeed against someone with much power.

"Excuse me can you please help us?" A kid asked Sonic

"It's ok little buddy, we'll help you guys with everything," Sonic responded

"What happened to this city?" Knuckles asked a parent near the kid

"W-Well there w-was a be-being, like you," Said the weak mother pointing at Sonic, "He c-came to us and j-just destr-oyed everything, our home, and even ki-killed m-m-my fa-mi-"

The poor women fell to the ground crying. Her family was killed as well as her husband. These poor innocent people's families, destroyed, injured and nowhere to be found.

"Rouge, Contact Tails and tell him to get some medical aid along with food and water, also tell him to get people to come over to assist people, we need as much help as possible," Sonic instructed, "We might as well need the entire HQ to help"

The HQ population was massive. Amongst every other fighting company, the freedom fighters was the biggest with 2000 people that joined and was the biggest and most popular fighting company ever in the world. The company has so many people that it could aid 2 cities, even though each city has a population density of 3000 people. Sonic and the gang helped people, with removing rebel to help people from being trapped and providing medicine, food and water for others until the HQ came to help. After 1 week of this they an out of resources, but fortunately, the HQ came, except for Cream and Tails since they have to take care of the whole HQ hobby. Shadow also didn't come, since he wasn't really interested about helping with the whole city. Sonic and the gang told each person what to do. The main objective was to basically help everyone with everything. But the main thing Sonic was thinking about, was the villain he has to face against now. Someone with more power, someone vulnerable to destroy a city and someone who is looks like Sonic. But for what reason? To get attention? For fun? Maybe it was just there goal. But it was the least of his worries. For now he has to help a city with over 2000 people. It took days, weeks, and months to fully save these people. Since the city has been destroyed and their homes are demolished, they were ordered to stay at the city of Mobius where the HQ of freedom fighters are. Here people will live happily, it was rated the most kind and collected city in the world from other cities. The whole HQ with the people from the city came back to Mobius, with people clapping and celebrating from saving a lot of people. But Sonic didn't care, all he cared about is if that sought of thing is going to happen again.
