"Ugh look at her. She is such a hoe, walking around here pregnant. I bet the kid is in fact Mr. Clark's. I wonder if that 'A' was worth it." I'm so tired of Emma and Penelope. Yes, Penelope my supposed friend had decided that Emma was better company since I had kept my pregnancy from her.

"You know what? You guys are obviously jealous of me since you cant seem to find something else to talk about. And if you must know, I actually had a 'B' before I left Mr. Clark's class."

"Who would be jealous of you?"

"Well obviously you, Emma. I mean just a day before you told lies on me and Mr.Clark, you were shamelessly trying to get into his pants. I guess you just wish he had called you sweetheart instead f gotten you a week long suspension." By now, the whole class was listening to the argument between us. Even the substitute teacher was listening. She was staring a little too hard at her boo, pretending that this wasn't happening right now.

"Whatever. You are just a whore."

"Ooh real original comeback." I rolled my eyes and turned around to finish my work. When school was over, I wanted to go baby shopping. Baby shopping could only be done if all my homework was done.

Oh the woes of being married to a teacher.

"Yea, well you didn't deny it." Oh, so now Penelope found the balls to talk to me.

"I didn't deny it because it's a stupid claim. Am I really a hoe for sleeping with my HUSBAND and getting pregnant? At least I didn't have to go to the free clinic last year to check for herpes." The class broke out in whispers and Penelope's face turned a bright red, probably out of anger and embarrassment.

"You know that was you and not me." Penelope tried to switch it around, but it was too late. Her face told the truth.

"It wasn't and everybody knows it. You two are pitiful. Penelope, we used to be best friends but you threw it all away just because I didn't tell you about my baby. Don't you think I had more important things to think about than telling you so we could gossip over the phone?" I said sarcastically. "And Emma, I don't even know you, but somehow I became your enemy. All you do is give me a headache all day, and you caused me to break my wrist. I'm honestly sick and tired of you. "

The room was quiet, waiting for a response from either girl. None came.  I stood up and looked at the sub. She understood my silent message of asking to leave. She nodded quickly, almost undetectable.

I walked down to the hallway to Devon's room just to see it filled with teachers. I waited outside for a little bit because I didn't want to just bust in on their conversation. Ms. Smith, one of the math teachers asked Devon a question and my ears immediately perked hearing my name involved.

"Did you really get accused of being married to Jayda?"

"Yes. We got it cleared up, but she's a nice girl."

"I think she's a little fast. I mean she's a teen and pregnant with her 'husband'. I don't even think she's really married."

"Watch it, Peter. No matter how you feel, that is still a student here." I smiled at how Ms. Smith stood up for me just now.

"Whatever. It doesn't matter."

"Peter, I know more about her than you do, so I suggest you shut your mouth. I don't appreciate you talking about her like that." He scoffed.

"You won't do anything about it. Your job is barely hanging on. Plus, why do you care so much?"

"I care because she's actually a sweet girl who doesn't deserve this kind treatment. And if you think this job is saving you from getting beat, you are most definitely wrong." Devon was calm. Eerily calm so I knew it was my time to walk into the room.
