The Crossed Paths

chapter 7

Elenor's pov

I opened my bedroom door and straight away went to my wardrobe  picked up the box containing  my mother's stuff and kept it in my big sling bag and swung it over my shoulder and it was then I heard some faint noise coming from my bedroom whose gates were strangely closed .

My heart skipped a beat maybe it was the intruder but what was he doing in my room I slowly opened my bedroom's door and see that my whole room is disheveled and on my speaker 'YOURS' by Russell Dickerson was playing on . I look around to find someone but fail to do so , so I stopped the song and decided to ask security to find who entered my room later because right now I needed to leave as I turn around and leave my room I hear the song playing again .

I stood where I was baffled and scared as it confirmed that someone was there in my room I dared not to move from my place as I heard some footsteps the intruder must be coming out of his hiding as  the footsteps reached near me a similar cologne and then my worst nightmare came true or maybe I already knew it but was in denial without no further a due I turned around and found Brandon standing right in front of me with arms in his hands .

He was messed up his eyes were swollen red so was his nose clearly he was crying I could see his tears dried up on his cheeks his clothes were a little messy and had blood stains on them I took a deep breath because either that blood is his or someone else's but in either cases it was a bad sign he was clearly out of his mind and was breathing heavily .

A tear slipped off my eye after watching me for a good one minute he broke the silence 

" I love this song I wanted to have our to have our first dance on it I wished to marry you " as he said this his voice was breaking down and I could see he was saying this with a heavy heart.

"Then what makes you do this ? what made you think that breaking into palace and killing people will make that happen?" I was kind of screaming at this point

"I am forced to do this I have my problems and if I could do anything to make you mine I would have done it but soon after I realized that if you love someone that doesn't mean that they are your destiny, I loved you with my whole heart Elle but you weren't written in my stars because we have have different paths that can never become one you are an angel and I was fortunate enough to have lived all those moments with you that we did but " he was tearing up a little bit and so was I because deep down even I knew that he was saying the harsh reality .

" Because I am a spy" he finally gave me the last piece of the puzzle that I was solving for so long but little did I know that the moment this puzzle will complete my heart will break into millions of little pieces.

"Yes but I did a stupid mistake which made everything thousand times more difficult trust me I tried to withdraw from this mission but they kidnapped my mother and ever since then I am forced to do it or else they will kill her" this was more than what I expected to be I know how it feels to loose your mother and I could not let that happen to him .

"I will help you rescue your mother but please don't commit any more sins than you already have we have best of security you don't have to worry trust me " I tried to convince him and console him at the same time

"if I had a choice I would have never done it but I am sorry this is how it is if I want to save my mother I will have to kill you there is no other way , I love you but god has his ways of teasing or he wouldn't have crossed our paths but only to separate it forever "

" I know the pain of loosing your mother and I promise you that you will not go through that at least  until I  am alive life is not fair it never is I have loved you enough to let you go and if this is it then shoot me at least let me die in your arms " I said while crying my eyes out 

he kept all of his guns down except one small one he kept it in his pocket and came near me and took out a small box from his backpocket , then he went down on one knee and proposed to me.

" Elenor will you marry me if we meet after an eternity in heaven ?" it was the funniest and most romantic thing I had ever heard and maybe I was too emotional to process anything he was saying because without thinking anything I said yes he took my hand and put the ring at its true place it was a rare ring and was similar to my mother's which took away  sadness of my departure and filled it with as much as possible as soon I was going to reuniting with my mother.

For one last time he kissed me it was a passionate kiss but still a gentle one finally he gave me something to remember him for then he gently pushed me away so that he could muster the strength to shoot.

I had a weird feeling in my stomach and my head had started to swirl around I clenched onto my bag as tightly as I could I closed my eyes to bear the pain.

finally I heard the sound of shot and I fainted.
