You carry so much love in your heart, give some
to yourself. The boys have a wrestling match today at 3:00. We will be called out of class and take the two hour long bus ride there. I am hoping I can drive myself, if not I'll throw myself off a bridge.
Oh yeah today is also my birthday.
I don't tell anyone when it is, because it's the day my dad died. It's better just to ignore it then face the truth.
Cooper hasn't spoken to me for 3 days. Which is good, I have 11 days to go. I'm valedictorian, I'm graduating early, I have a job lined up. My life is coming together.
But why am I sad?
I heard the bell ring signaling lunch, I grabbed my bag and walked to my locker. I opened it up and saw a letter fall down.
'Happy birthday, yours truly.' I looked around for a clue and saw nothing. I shrugged and shoved the letter into my bag, I walked to my car in the lot. I unlocked it and saw a cupcake on my seat through the window. I opened my door and read the letter attached.
'Yours truly.' I groaned, hating secrets. I put it on my passenger seat and drove home, I forgot my chemistry homework and I'm sure Cooper didn't do his so he'll need to copy it.
I arrived at my house and saw a car parked in my driveway, I've seen that car before. I shrugged it off and walked in.
"Adeline!" My mom announced loudly "Why are you home?" She asked.
"I forgot my chemistry homework. I'm gonna go grab it." I started walking towards the stairs but she quickly grabbed my shoulders and steered me to the kitchen.
"I'll grab it, after all it's your birthday." She winked.
"Okay well bring that and the book!" I yelled. After what seemed like 24 years she came downstairs with the things. I grabbed them and kissed her goodbye and walked to my car, but not before taking a look at the car that was there. I looked in the window and there was no sign to whose it was.
It was going to bug me.
I arrived back at school and went into the journalism classroom. There was no one there except for a few kids who had this as an elective class. I sat in the back reviewing my homework.
The bell rang signaling lunch over, I walked to my class and sat on my stool placing my homework down neatly. The late bell rang, I expected Cooper to come in, as he usually does when this bell rang. Then the bell signaling class is starting rang but he never showed up.
I quickly made a second copy of my chemistry homework and wrote Coopers name at the top.
"Cooper said he's going to be late so he gave me his homework to hand in." I smiled handing it to the teacher. As if on cue Cooper walked in, he sat next to me. I looked him up and down and saw glitter on his hands.
"What stripper did you make out with?" I scoffed. He rolled his eyes.
"Do you have the homework?" He said dryly. I rolled my eyes.
"Got it covered." I answered just as dryly.

Cooper and I stood up with Tyler and walked to the gym. Some players where already changing, while others messed around.
"Boys start getting ready the bus leaves in 25 minutes, we need all of you on it." Coach yelled. "Mann you're riding the bus with us." He pointed at me and started walking towards the office. I followed behind him.
