CHAPTER 11

I froze. I knew him, even though we'd never met. I recognized his face from the pictures. I couldn't believe my eyes, I blinked a couple times to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Still the same man.

"Uh...Hi...." I said, slowly walking to turn the light on.

"Hi Megan. Do you recognize me?"

"Um yeah...how did you get in here? It'd be best if you left now." I asked, picking up my phone and texting Kyle to come now. I would text my mom, but I'm almost positive all hell would break loose if she showed up.

"The door was unlocked."

"And what gave you the right to just walk right in?"

"It was my house once too. In fact, my name is probably still on the lease. "

"Hey Meg I--who's this?" Kyle said, walking into the game room, putting his arm around me.

"My-My d--Father."

I could feel Kyle staring at me. In all the time we'd known each other, The Smith family never met my dad. I had never met my dad. My parents got divorced before I was even born. He left my mom on her own, I really had no respect for him. I wanted to so desperately to cry, run up to him and hug him. I'd never Had a dad before. But I knew I couldn't do that. He left us. Why should I welcome him in?

"Your father?" Kyle reassured. The tone in his voice now more serious, making him sound exactly like his dad.

"I don't believe we've ever met." Jake, my dad, cut in. Holding his hand out for Kyle to shake.

Kyle rejected coldly,"Of course we haven't and why would we? You know who else you've never met?" He pulled me forward,"Her. And she's your fucking daughter. You've got one messed up mind if you think you can just come back here and act like nothing ever happened. I--" I cut him off.

"Kyle, stop." I nearly yelled.

"Why? Why should I stop? He left you and your mom in the dust! Why are you defending him?" Kyle rushed out of the room. I could hear him stomp down the stairs and slam the front door. I knew exactly where he was going. My house was about to be bombarded with people.

"Well...is he your boyfriend." Jake asked.

" Uh...Yeah..." I answered, slowly sitting down. This was the weirdest situation ever.

"Look I'm sorry I left your mom. I knew I was messing up the moment I left. I just--" I looked at him coldly and built up my courage.

"Listen," I said loudly," Do you honestly think you can come in here and have normal conversation with me? WE'VE NEVER MET. Yes, you may be my biological father. But you will NEVER, I repeat NEVER be my dad. I'm 16. 16. And never have I come in contact with you. Never once have you even tried to contact me. Do you really think coming into MY house. And saying sorry will fix 16 years of not having a dad?" I began to cry. Jake came closer and put his arm around me." Don't touch me." I flung it off," To me, you're just a stranger I met about 4 minutes ago. You mean nothing to me. And if I were you, I would turn around and go back to where I came from. Because I only give it about 2 minutes until 3 Smith boys and their father come in here to deal with this for me." I stared at him fiercely, shaking with fear. I couldn't believe what I just did.

As if on cue, I heard Ken yell from down stairs,"Meg!!" I heard an army of footsteps run up the stairs and before I knew it, all of the Smith boys were standing there. Complete with my mom and Kim in front. I stood and cried.

My mom ran up and hugged me," are you okay?" She asked, giving my father a cold; disgusted look.

"Why wouldn't she be okay? It's not like I'd hurt my own daughter." Jake said.
