Fell! Palette - Rurik

Fell! Mark - Atlas

Atlas has no voice, he can't talk. He's also pretty skittish.

11:30 PM

Atlas sat on the front porch, listening to the harsh pitter patter of rain, as it beat down on the roof above him. He found it was calming for him to listen to the rhythm of it, and just lose himself in the moment.

The sky lights up, then Atlas starts to count the seconds.

 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... B O O M .

He tended to count the seconds in his head every time he saw lightning. He didn't know why, it was just something he had picked up.

"Hey, Al. You're up late." comes a voice, making the startling the small skeleton and making him jump.

He looks over to see that Rurik had sat down next to him. He must've not heard the door open over the thunder.

"The rain's coming down pretty hard, huh?" Rurik looks up and out at the sky, watching the rain come down.

Atlas simply nods, as he leans on to Rurik's shoulder. The sky lights up again, just as it had earlier, and he starts to count.

1.. C R A S H

Shaken, Atlas tenses up and clings to Rurik's arm, burying his face into the tall skeleton's shoulder for safety. Rurik holds Atlas, hugging the rattling bone boy to his chest.

"It's okay. It won't hurt you as long as I'm here to protect you." Rurik reassures him.

The lighting continues, as do the loud bangs and crashes of thunder as the rain soon becomes deafening. At this point, Atlas has become scared out of his mind, which is why Rurik picked him up, and carried him inside, sitting by the window, so Atlas could still watch the rain. Soon, the sound of a tree falling makes it's way to Atlas, causing him to curl up in Rurik's lap and cling to his jacket.

"Hey... It's okay... I'm here for you, buddy... You're safe..." Rurik continues to whisper to Atlas.

All Rurik gets in return are shivers and shaky breaths. What was once calming for Atlas, had now become frightening and worrisome to him. Rurik took Atlas' face gently in his hands and turned his head up towards him.

"Hey... Look at me... Look at me okay? It's okay... I won't let it hurt you, Al... Just... here... " Rurik took his jacket off and wrapped Atlas in it. "You can hide in this... Okay?" he gives Atlas a comforting smile.

Atlas huddles up in the jacket as the thunder outside continues to boom in his head... but he felt safer... he cuddled up to Rurik, feeling Rurik's arms squeeze him tightly... it made him feel secure...

"It'll be alright, it's just some loud noises, yeah? I've heard Lotus bitch louder than this-" he chuckles softly, causing Atlas to give a breathy laugh as well.

Not long after, Rurik gets tired, and taking Atlas in his arms, he carries him up to the bedroom. Nuzzling his face into Rurik's chest, the small skeleton falls asleep.
