When life goes on.

(Cindi's P.O.V.)

I didn't know what to say anymore.

After a while, I managed to convince mom to take me to school again, but under the rule that I wasn't allowed to speak to any other students, unless it was absolutely necessary.

I had originally planned on breaking that rule, but I knew that she'd find out somehow. She always found out when I broke one of her rules.

So I kept quiet. I didn't speak to anyone but the teachers and school faculty. But even then that wasn't often. 

I had also attempted to avoid Constan, Yeper, and Tendo, but that didn't work well, as I got unlucky when Yeper rounded a corner just as I was about to pass that way.

She stopped suddenly. "Oh, hi Cindi! Sorry I almost ran in to you. I didn't quite see where I was going there hehe."

I was about to reply, when I remembered mom's rule. So I kept my mouth shut and started to walk past her.

"Wait, Cindi!" She said.

I didn't want to stop though. I knew what was coming, and I did not want to get caught up in that again.

"Cindi wait please!" Yeper hollered as I continued walking away. 

I heard the sound of pawsteps as Yeper stopped right in front of me; blocking me from going further.

"Cindi... I want to tell you something." She stated.

I kept my gaze facing the floor, so I wouldn't get emotional.

She inhaled sharply. "Constan loves you you know that? And he's trying really hard to keep you two together, but your mother is making it really hard, and I'm not saying it's your fault, but you're not exactly trying to help the situation either don't you think?"

She got it all out in one breath and panted for a couple seconds after.

But, I kept myself from answering.

"Cindi I mean it! Constan really loves you and you're not showing that you love him back! I know it might be hard for you with your mom not being supportive, but why can't you just show him love back?"

I bit my lip. I wouldn't let myself look up at her. She couldn't understand what was going on. Nobody could...

It was for me to bear alone. I was alone in this. And I wasn't just accepting everything, I didn't want this. But mom was stronger than me, and I lived in her house, as she always told me. I couldn't just do whatever I wanted to. I had limits.

I knew she was angry now. 

"Listen to me! You know I'm telling the truth! I want to see you guys work out as a couple, and not just have it become a big fail! You two are meant to be together and that's just that! So why aren't you fighting for it?"

I finally looked up at her with the worst expression I could muster. She had to know that I wasn't in the mood. I wasn't going to tolerate this right now.

Whatever kind of face I made, it shut her up. She closed her mouth, and let me pass.

I ran off without having said anything.

She couldn't understand a thing! She was oblivious to what was happening in my life! How could she say those things?!

Yet a I knew... at least a part of me did... that she was speaking a partial truth... I wasn't fighting... I didn't have enough strength or hope left... 

What was the point if I was fighting a losing battle...?

(Yeper's P.O.V.)

I was really getting mad now. Why was she not responding to me? 

"Listen to me! You know I'm telling the truth! I want to see you guys work out as a couple, and not just have it become a big fail! You two are meant to be together and that's just that! So why aren't you fighting for it?"

As soon as I finished telling her that, she finally looked up at me, but her expression wasn't what I expected at all.

I was expecting something much more intimidating; like the kind of face that silently tells you to shove off.

But not hers...

She was gritting her teeth and had a furious look on her face sure, but tears were pouring down her cheeks.

I decided that that was enough. I wasn't gonna help anything like this, right now. She needed space.

I let her walk past, to which she walked away quickly.

"Oh... oh no..." I whispered to myself. "This... is bad..."

Cindi looked like she was giving up, or had given up. Like this was the end of her and Constan.

Her face said it all...

There may be no hope left.
