The fourth day of school and I'm going to be late!
Slipping on our grey school uniform and matching it with my pair of black leather school shoes, combing my tangled wet long hair.
I was so tamad last night to braid my hair before hitting the bed and my beautiful brown silky and wavy hair has rewarded me now.
I took my own time combing it by taking divisions.
My hair stops right above my navel and I like to grow 'til it covers my ass.
After spending my useful ten minutes, my hair is all done swaying perfectly with curves at the end.
Another ten minutes para naman ubusin sa pag-aayos at pagtingin ng repleksyon ko sa salamin.
Picking up all the books from my study table, I dumped them in my leather bag which didn't help a bit.
And rushed out of my room with a few heavy freaking books in my arms that I borrowed from the school library yesterday for our homework.
I rushed to the dining table, placing my books and bag on the table and my ass on the seat.
Breakfast was already on my plate, so wasting no much time I took a spoon of pasta and shoved it in my mouth.
"No one's going to steal your breakfast, love." Mom said while making a sandwich for my two younger sisters, Navaeh and Lyddia.
"Mom, 30 minutes left and I'm late for school. Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked glaring at her.
"You're an 18-year-old young lady who is well trained to set an alarm and wake up in the morning on time for your school. Also, unlike you, I have better and busy work in the morning than to wake you up." she glared back at me.
"Speaking of setting my alarm, the last time I checked, my alarm clock works perfectly fine not until today. Can somebody tell me who might be the culprit is?" I asked again with glaring eyes at each of the people at the dinner table.
When no one dared to speak without even saying a word I said it as I looked at them one by one and my eyes stopped at Lyddia, who's glancing at me.
"I believe the better work is teaching my sweet little sister not to touch my things, right mom?" sabi ko agad ng walang sumagot man lang sa tanong ko.
Hearing this my sister, Lyddia, sitting beside Navaeh threw her fork right in my direction which flew above my head.
Her target is always as bad as her annoying self.
"Daddy!" She complained to dad which I ignored and continued sipping my juice.
Instead of dad, " Katherina!" mom hissed. Looks like the culprit has been found already.
"What? I was just saying, I didn't say any names, right?" patay malisya kong sabi.
"Why? Did you do that, Lyds?" tanong ko at pinasingkit ang matang nakatingin sa kanya.
Lyddiah just averted her eyes from me to her plate at nagpatuloy sa pagkain.
"No, I didn't." She said after a few bites of her pancakes.
"Ok, if you say so." aniko.
"Just be careful next time. Maybe next time si Ursula na ang makakaharap mo when you do that na." Navaeh said while getting up from her seat after finishing her meal.
Hearing that from Vaeh, Lyds starts to wail while mom stopped at what she was doing and consoled her.
Lyds is terrified of Ursula and she is our threat against Lyddiah when her spoiled attitude is working again.
"Bye, mom and dad. Ate Erina, I'll go first." Then she went straight out of the house.
I finished the last fork of my pancakes and got up, lifting the books and my bag.
I stood for a second wondering how to spoil the moment more.
"You know what, Lyds? Ursula loves unicorns, and it's said that she comes at night to collect all of them from cute little girls like you. If I were you, I'd better hide them." I said as a matter of fact to her before running towards the main door so mom wouldn't smack my head for the war Vaeh and I started.
I opened the main door and closed behind it, all the screams and wail dying inside as I stepped out into another cloudy day.
Chuckling at my thoughts I wore my pods and went in the car that would take me to school.
My school is one of the not so famous high schools in a not so famous but charming and simple town, Cantilan.
Beaches with gray and white sand, scenic islands and islets, as well as hills and rock formations, farmlands and greens and forests – these, are the sights that greet you in the charming town of Cantilan.
Facing the Pacific Ocean, this town is a simple one.
You cannot expect to see high-rise buildings or malls here. Instead, you'll see people living a simple life. A simple, rural life at that.
As you go about town, scenes such as farming rice and casting nets are what greet you.
Cantilan is a place for those who love beauty in a town that is away from the crowds. You will be amazed by its charm and by the warmth of its people.
From mountains to beautiful landscapes and seas, the town is a package of the sea.
Well, at least for me because it looks beautiful watching the sunset from our house or school's field, but I like the rooftop more while chilling and not minding the people surrounding me.
When I reached our school, Manong Big Guy parked it in front of our school's gate and went out to open the car door beside me.
His name talaga is Victor but I call him Manong Big Guy because of his my big butler. Well, mom gave us each a butler and I don't mind having one.
Walking in a hurry because I don't want to be late I see some of my classmates outside the lobby na nagkakagulo dala-dala ang kanya-kanyang mga notebooks.
"Anong nanyayari?" I asked Aveisse.
"Kathe..." with those puppy eyes of hers I already know what was happening here sa labas.
Rolling my eyes while letting out a sigh, kinuha ko ang bag ko sa aking likod. Binuksan ang zipper at kinuha ang Biology notebook ko.
"This will be the first and last one, Aveisse." I said while handing it to her.
Papasok na sana ako sa room, "Oh! And please huwag kayong papahuli. 5 minutes before the school bell rings nasuli mo na 'yang notebook sa'kin."
"Yes, ma'am!" Ave chirped.
"Avery Louisse Chan!" I call out.
"Jeez, Katherina! No need to call my full name, okay? I'll make sure 5 mins before the bell rings naibigay ko na'to sa'yo." aniya.
I was already inside our room when she shouted, "By the way, thankies Kathyyy!"
"Shut up!" I yelled back. I just heard her giggles.
Sitting in my seat, pinagpatuloy ko na lang ang binabasa ko kagabing pocketbook. Well, I'm here sa school naman so I think there's no need to hide.
Reading while waiting. Yeah, reading while waiting na maibalik yung Bio notebook ko from Aveisse.
Good thing I wasn't late and there's still 15 minutes left.
10 minutes for them to finish the homework at ibigay yung notebook ko before our flag ceremony starts.
Jeez! If mom finds this out, she would be mad at me, especially dad, he's going t be disappointed and mad.
Pasalamat ka talaga Chan kaibigan kita.
Letting out a sigh, I continued reading my book until they were finished and the school bell rings.
