There was once a girl who danced with such grace that it brought life to the world around her. With every step and twirl she encouraged the growth and joy of everything around her. Her eyes shone a bright green, and the plants she left behind mimicked that same color. All around her home town you could track her movement by the bright green grass that trailed behind her.
One day, as the danced on the stage, she caught sight of someone more lovely than she had ever seen. She knew not who they were, but she knew that this was the person she was meant to spend her life with. Her dance increased in joy and speed, and with her renewed energy she gave the most passionate performance she had ever given.
Once she had done her performance, she came down from the stage. She meant to find the person whom she had seen from the stage, but they were no where to be found. It brought her great sadness to know that the one person with whom she belongs was lost to the world. Se felt as though a part of her had been torn away.
When she regained her senses, she asked around. No one had seen the person of whom she was speaking and no one could help her locate them. They told her she ought to give up on them, but she could not do that. She could not let go of her fate.
She set out alone across the world. She danced as she went, for the money and for the for the love of the dance. In every town where she stopped, she asked after her love, but no one had an answer.
For all her life, she trekked across the world. People would come to look at the trail of green she left behind. farmers would gawk and thank her for the gifts she brought their fields. The girl herself used the greenery only to mark where she had been and where her love was not.
There came a day when the girl had been everywhere there was to go. Not a patch of ground was left untouched by the emerald of her eyes, and yet those same eyes had yet to rest upon the face of her love. She fell to the ground and she looked up at the sky. She begged the gos to send her help in finding the one she held so dear. She was met with silence.
She turned, and for the first time in her life it was without the grace of a dancer. Despondent, she returned to her hometown. They waited for her to take the stage, but she could not dance knowing she was without her love. She had given life to a beautiful world of greenery, but all it seemed able to do was haunt her with the reminder that she had not found the one she was meant to find.
One day, long after she had given up dancing and the green of her touch had faded to brown, she wandered into the theater. She looked up at an empty stage and she wondered after all she had given up.
It was then that she saw them.
Sitting alone in the theater was the very person whom she had chased around the earth. He looked her way, and when their eyes met she got the sense that they too had been searching the earth. The distance between them disappeared and she fell into his arms with such joy that it reanimated every stretch of grass across the globe. The path she had marked was no longer one of disappointment and regret, but one of love and promises fulfill. The girl would live her life with the very person for whom she was destined, and the world would be green forever after.
