KARKAT POV-------------------
I woke up and got ready for another day of ridicule and embaresment. I live in a shit world where when you are fifteen you are supposed to find your soulmate. In my world everything is a pale grey color and when you meet your soulmate and you touch, your "true" colors are supposed to appear on your skin. Unfortunatly i am almost eightteen and i am still a walking mass of grey dissapointment. I walked out of my room and grabbed my backpack. "bye dad, im going to hell!" i shouted from in front of the door. "DON'T TRIGGER ANYONE!" My father shouted back. i sighed and walked out the door, heading for the bus stop. I sat down on the benches 'till the most annoying and rude fuckass in the world came over and shoved me off the bench. "MOVE IT INVISABITCH" John shouted at me. The boy was covered in patches of color, as were all the other kids. I moved away from the benches and sat down by a tall, grey tree. I guess I really am invisable. The bus pulled up and i walked on and sat in my usual, back-corner seat. 'Why are you letting no color ride the bus?" John asked the bus driver. "Any louder and the people in china could hear you." I mummbled. "If you ask me all the no colors should be forced to walk everywhere." Jade replied harshly. I looked down and my hands and waited to just finally get to school. The bus finally stopped at our crappy high school. I got off last because Jade and John ordered that the no color had to leave last. I walked up to my perpetually grey locker and shoved the crap i didn't need into it. I walked to my first class and unlike the students, all of my teachers admired me for my knowledge and because i never talked. I nodded to my first teacher, Mrs. Lejion, when i walked in and continued to my desk in the back corner. Mrs. Lejion began her lesson on Trigonomitry. I zoned out because i already knew all of this. i pulled out my sketch book and began to draw anime characters. As i was finishing up the details on Kirito's jacket i heard Mrs. Lejion say something about a new student. i looked up to only be faced with a pair of grey shades staring back at me. I looked over the tall boy and saw that he was completly grey. I tried to look away but something within me told me to keep my eyes on his grey and emotionless face.
DAVE POV----------------------
I walked into my new class with a blank look on my face and i waited for some asshole to make a joke about my grey color. I looked around the room as the perky and bubbly teacher droned on about how they should all welcome me and be kind. My eyes drifted to the back corner of the room and locked onto a small boy drawing in a sketch book. I wanted to just rush over there and find out what he was drawing and what he liked and all the things about him. 'What the hell am i saying that's not what cool dudes do' I thought. The teacher signaled me to go find a seat and it was like i was being pulled by an invisable rope and i ended up next to the kid in the corner. The teacher returned to her lesson and i looked over to the kid. I looked at his drawing and almost gasped. this kid drew a perfectly acurate picture of Kirito. All the way down to the way his jacket creases when he lifts his swords. 'How did you learn to do that?" I whispered to him.
KARKAT POV-----------------
'How did you learn to do that?" The new kid whispered to me. I looked up at his grey shades and answered his question with one of my own. "Why do you care?" I said but the words tasted bad coming out. The new boy's face fell slightly but he quickly put back his stoney expression from when he entered the class. "It's cool, but it needs color." He replied, looking back to the front of the classroom. "I didn't think something needed color to be cool." I said with a bit of anger in my tone. I watched as a smirk made its way onto the stoney faced boy. He turned to me and held out his hand. "I'm Dave Strider." He said with a smirk. i looked at his hand for a moment and then shook it. "I'm Karkat Vantas." I watched as a light peach color spread all over my hand. My eyes widened as i watched the color spread and stop at my wrist. I looked up at dave with his mouth agape. 'Well this was unexpected." I nervously chuckled. Dave looked down at our hands and nervously went to touch my wrist. The pale peach color spread from the spot he touched all the way to my elbow. "Holy shit" He whispered loudly. "Meet me behind the school at lunch." I whispered back.
TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY HARUKA NANASE AND POOL-CHAN'S MARRIGE--
KARKAT POV-----------------
I sat down in the field behind the school with my homemade lunch, waiting for Dave. I pulled out one of my favorite books, "Looking for Alaska" and began reading. I stopped reading when i head the soft crunch of grass and looked up to see Dave walking towards me. He sat down next to me and opened his lunch bag, pulling out a large bottle of apple juice. I giggled and he looked at me with the most serious expression and said "Apple juice is the shit.". Which only made me burst out laughing, something i haven't done in years, and Dave laughed as well. His laugh was so cute, just the right blend of noise. He looked at me and said "So i guess we're soulmates.". "I guess so." I replied. "Well I have to say that I'm lucky." He said with a smile. "Why?'' I asked. "Because out of all the people in the world I got you." He said with a smirk but his voice was serious. I smiled at him and leaned up against his shoulder. I watched as the white color of his sleeve spread down and stopped just as fast as it had begun. Then I looked down to see the black color of mine flow down and stop as well. I smiled up at Dave as he took his hands and made the colors appear on my face. "Now there's only one grey spot left." He said as he leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. I froze for a second and then melted into the kiss. His lips tasted like apple juice and something i just couldn't put my finger on. Dave pulled away to breath and I looked at his face. All grey except for his pink, delicious lips. I ran my fingers over his cheeks and watched the color swirl from my touch. I waited 'till his whole face and his shades were covered to brush my finger through his soft hair. Watching it turn from a pale grey to a pretty blonde color. I smiled at him once his hair was done. He smiled back and reached over to brush through mine. Once he was done i pulled out the mirror from my lunch bag. "Why do you have a mirror in you lunch bag?" Dave asked. "My father hides it in here in hopes that i will finally use it to see how 'beautiful' I am even if i have no color." I replied. "You were beautiful with out color and with it. Color doesn't make something cool." He said, looking into my eyes. I leaned over and lightly kissed his lips."You're beautiful too." I said as i pulled away. Then i took the mirror and held it up to my face. "Woah." I said looking at my reflection. I now had brown hair, my skin was a pale peach color, and my eyes were a bright amber brown color. "Let me see." Dave said reaching for the mirror. I passed him the mirror. He looked at it and smiled at his reflection but there seemed to be some hesitation as he looked at his shades in the reflection. "I may be extremely hot but you are still cuter." He said, still looking at the hand-mirror. I smiled and a pale red blush dusted my cheeks. I asked Dave if i could see his shedual and smiled because our matched perfectly. The loud bell rang, signaling that our lunch time was over and Dave and i walked to our next class. We walked down the halls, hand in hand, watching the other kids' jaw's drop at the sight of us and our colors. That'd how the rest of our day went. People stared and a few times we stared back. At the end of the day Dave walked me to my bus, gave me his number and then leaned down and kissed me in front of everyone. We broke after a minute and i got on my bus with a huge grin on my face. I sat down in the back seat and opened my book. The bus drove off and i was one of the first to get off this time. After all, how can they hold back the 'no color' when everyone has color?
