chapter ten

Tomorrow's the graduation and I'm still having mixed feelings about it.. I'll miss the university of Florida..great school y'know... the only good news is i won't have to go back home immediately since the wedding has been postponed..
i decide to do my morning workouts and jog for a while.. I'm on 15th terrace street when i spot a lady struggling to get her groceries into the car..it wouldn't hurt to help right?

"hey let me take that for you" i say to the fair brunette giving her a smile... she smiles back and i take some things from her.. we walk towards her car and dump everything in the backseat... she turns to face me.. . she has light brown eyes that are so big you could almost see your future in it
"thank you so much.... I don't know why i bought so many things.. anyways I'm maria"she extends her hand ... i take it firmly
" I'm irfan"i say taking her outstretched hand..

" strange name but cool nonetheless.. want me to give you a ride?" she offers
i let out a chuckle...
" I'm jogging actually but thank you" i say pointing to my clothes

"oh..i didn't notice..anyways maybe I'll see you some other time..and thank you again"she says getting into her car....i nod and I'm off

my to do list for today is to eat, sleep and eat more and sleep again...i need all the rest i can get before i start my new job on monday..the pills have been working well now that i have more interest in getting better...i decide to call sophia before she thinks I'm dead or something..

she picks on the second ring
"hey " she whispers

"why are you whispering?"

"cause I'm at your place and i had to excuse myself to pick the call"
i get alarmed
" why are you at my place"

" because my parents wanted to see how your mum and dad are faring...and they said your so called fiancee is sending men to go look for you"
i start pacing

" b but they don't know where i am..did you say anything?"

"no of cause not..they just figured it out like i told you they would..but they're starting in michigan..but i don't think they have a lead thou.. they're just taking chances"soph says trying to calm me down

" ok they won't find me there .and no one knows where i am except maria and they  don't know her..ok just try to mislead them you know...tell them another country I could have gone to or something"

"  will do..take care of yourself ok?"

"yea i will..thank you soph" and with that she ends the call..
i had wanted to tell her about the incident with max but it'll just get her worried...i thought they'd have given up by now... well thank God I'm in the midst of thousands of people..they can't find me.. they'll get tired once they search Michigan..
a knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts..
i open the door to find maria beaming at me..
" we're going shopping" she says coming in

"what are we shopping for?"

"dresses" she says going to the kitchen to fix herself brunch

" dresses?..why"

"because we're going to the UF graduation tomorrow"

" what is the UF"I ask going to sit on the island

" university of Florida duhhh...my sis goes there and so she invited me..and i heard there are a lot of cute guys there too"she says winking

" you have fun cause I'm not going"

"why not? c'mon I don't want to go alone..pleasssseeee?"she tries doing her annoying puppy face with me

"ok fine but we won't stay long"I agree.not cause of the face..she looked stupid and that just makes me want to go

" yessssss...go have a shower while i devour this french toast so we can go dress hunting"...who eats french toast as brunch? i keep telling her she's strange but she never agrees

"i can't wear that maria..its too exposing"i whine for the tenth time since we've been in this store
" but its just your shoulders" she whines back obviously frustrated...we had picked her dress which was a red dress with a slit which reveals her thigh but the gown is beautiful nonetheless

"yea i think i can wear this one" i say coming out of one. of the dressing room... it's a straight black dress which is a bit tight but just okay to not show every curve...the neck is dangerously low but i can use my veil to cover up that part and maria will kill me if she has to take me to another store..

"i love it... let's get the hell out of here.. I'm starving"

ok so i was still in a birthday frenzy and thats why i didn't update Yesterday...i know the chapter is short but what did you think of it
