It was an April morning, the beginning of spring and a fresh working day for Xiao Zhan.
It was about 6:00 am in the morning when he woke up. He was stirring a hot cup of coffee to start his day.
After a few hours of bathing and dressing up he was all set to go out for his work.
He went straight to the studio where he was working as an intern. He had just graduated university and needed work experience so he had decided that being an intern was better a choice to mould a good career.
He was already in his work area fixing graphical errors on his monitor. He glanced at his watch which was telling him that it was time for lunch so he decided to stop by the cafeteria to grab a quick snack. Haikuan his colleague accompanied him to the cafeteria.
"So Zhan what are your plans for a relationship. I mean are you still going to hold to your nation's bachelor title or something." Haikuan questioned.
Zhan paused for a while his fingers on his chin while he was in deep thought.
"Never really thought about it you know" he answered.
"Well I'm taken for your information."
"That's great. Who is it ?"
"Zhu Zanjin. Met him last Christmas and he proposed to me last week."
"I see" he said drifting off in his own imagination on what might be his ideal type. He actually never had an ideal type and never had any criteria on what his future partner might be.
"Well I just hope it's someone who can make me happy"
That's what he always had as a criteria.
Someone who can make him happy.
It was already evening when he came out of the studio. His lean body making its way to the nearby restaurant where his so called crush Yan Xi had called him to. Yan Xi was his classmate in high school and Yan Xi being the casanova he was melted Zhan's heart. It was just mere admiration which he had for the other man but he took it in a romantic sense to fullfill his romantic needs. He wasn't so serious about it anyways.
He entered the restaurant and his friend was already seated in one of the corners ever so handsomely staring out of the window. He made his way to the the seat in front of him and sat down.
"You came Zhan" he said in his soft hoarse voice.
"Sorry I was a bit late" he replied smiling.
" It's alright anyways let me get to the point since I have a date later on. Zhan, I'm getting engaged next week and I was hoping you could work something out for the event cards."
"Well that'd be lovely. I hope I'm invited" Zhan replied wiggling his eyebrows. Zhan was genuinely happy for his friend.
It wasn't like he loved him anyways.Yan Xi chuckled.
"Of course you are"
Yan Xi glanced at his watch.
" Well now I've gotta go. You see I've got a date""Okay then. Bye" Zhan replied.
Zhan decided to stay back since he was too lazy to cook dinner.
Now Zhan had just come out of the eatery staggering a bit since he did have a bottle of bai jiu.
His vision began to get blurry and he knew that the alcohol started to kick in his system so he decided to rest a bit near the bus stop. His eyes gave up on him and he began to slowly fall asleep which he regretted but it was too late.
" Excuse me are you alright ? "
A cold finger poking his forehead softly which made him to turn to his left. He then felt it poking his cheek left cheek.
Zhan began to gain his conciousness but his eyes were still blurry his head was not functioning.
"Are you Santa Claus ?"
