Memories

Here we are" Connor said just as we arrived at the restaurant,  the lights were off and the sign read 'closed'.

"Connor they're closed" I said pointing to the closed sign,  then he pulled out his phone and started what I guess was texting,  when he was done he put his phone back into his pocket and few seconds later a blonde girl turned on the lights in the restaurant and opened the door for us.

"Connor, babe, it's been a long time, I missed you" she said and gave him a hug which he returned

"Yeah, I'm so sorry I haven't been frequent with my visits, I've been busy" he said and she smiled fondly at him.

I looked at connor and apparently he had the same look on his face.

"So, who is this chick?" she asked nodding to me

"This is Tracy — a classmate" he added when she gave him a suspicious look.

"Just a classmate? You've never brought a girl here before, I'm jealous" the blonde girl said with a pout.

"We happened to bump into each other, she's had a long day, and I knew i could count on you to make the best dinner" He smiled at her.

"Sure, I'll be as fast as I can okay?" she said and looked at me pitifully before walking into the kitchen.

"Let's sit down" Connor said and directed us to a table, he sat down and relaxed like he was familiar with the environment.

"How do you know her?" I asked nodding towards the kitchen.

"She was a friend of mine back at the orphanage" he said and smiled probably remembering the good times they had.

"Is that all she was to you?, a friend of yours from the orphanage?" I asked and he rose a brow in a questioning manner.

"Are you jealous?" he asked

"No!" I said quickly

"Good" he said and went back to using his phone and I swear I felt like ripping my hair out of my head

"Here you go" the blonde girl said and placed a burger in front of me

"Uhmmmmm" I said and stared at the burger.

"What's the matter hunny I didn't poison it" she said with a smile and I gave her a stern look because that didn't even come to my mind.

"I'm actually not allowed to eat meat" I said and they looked at me like I was crazy.

"Tracy you didn't tell me that you're a vegetarian now" connor said looking dumbfounded.

"I'm not it's just...it's just complicated" I said frustrated

"Well that's the fastest food I could make this late, I'm sorry but it seems like I can't help you" she said with a pout and stroked my hair .

"It's okay" I said and gently removed her hand from my head.

"Tracy are you sure?,  you seemed really hungry some minutes ago" Connor asked and I think I heard concern in his voice.

"Yeah I've been hungrier " I said and regretted it when I realised how pathetic it sounded.

"Awwwwwwn what a poor thing" the blonde girl said and started stroking my hair again.

"Forget it, I'm going home" I said and got up

"I'm coming with you" Connor said and I involuntarily smiled because I really didn't want to walk home alone this late at night.

"Bye Trina" Connor said to the girl, so her name was Trina?
