Missy

I was sleep when I heard August's phone ringing. It was 4 o'clock in the morning so I could only wonder who could be calling. I wasn't worried about August cheating or females calling, but his phone was really loud which irritated the hell out of my tired soul.

"August," I whispered. He still didn't budge so I shook him. "Missy what?" he spoke. "Get your phone." he let out a sigh of frustration and felt around for the phone. "What's goin' on man?" he spoke into the phone. "No, my legs doing fine but why you call so late?" I knew it could only be two people calling to look for progression in his legs, and I know my mom is sleep and she would've called me. "That's coo', but that ain't boutta' go down." he said with an angry expression hanging up.

"What was that all about?" I asked, "Susie on some dumb shit." "What she want?" I asked getting angry. "Nun baybeh, let's go back ta' bed." he told me. As we were laying in the darkness I couldn't sleep and I knew that he could sense it because he wasn't sleeping either. I could feel him shifting in bed.

"What's on ya' mind?" August broke the silence, "Why would she call you at this time August?" I asked. I wasn't accusing him of anything, I just wanted to know what she said on that phone. "She wanted me ta' come ova'. I said no." I nodded. "Let's just finish up the therapy with her and we'on gotta see her nomo'." he stated. I eventually drifted in to a much needed sleep.

-----

I woke up around 2:00 P.M. which was strange for me. I usually wake up early in the morning by force of habit. I looked out the window that directed to the backyard since I knew it was around the time Susie would be here. I brushed my teeth and made my down the stairs out to the backyard to see Susie trying to put on a show for August, not even doing what she was supposed to be doing.

"Umm, what the f*ck you doing?" I interrupted her little dance. August limped over to me, "Baybeh, I'm glad ya' finally decided ta' come downstairs." he grinned from ear to ear. He gave me a deep passionate kiss and I knew exactly what he was doing, showing this bitch who he with. "Save me." he whispered in my ear as he hugged me.

"Oh, Ms.James. I'm sorry, August and I were just showing each other our dance moves." she quickly lied. It was obvious since the pasty bitch was turning a shade of red. "Oh really?" I asked, she frantically nodded. "Well how August out here dancing when he can hardly f*cking walk? August can't even f*cking dance." I spat.

"Well I'm sorry to tell you, but your boyfriend here did enjoy my show." she said with a sly smirk. "Excuse me, I'm going to be going now. August you have my number." she said leaving. "Baybeh," he started. "I know babe, It's fine." I told him. "We'on have ta' keep her 'roun ya' know that right?" I looked up at him, "So who's gonna help you?" I asked. "We ca' get whoeva' ya' want or we ca' do it ourselves. All I'm doin' nah' is balancing ma'self and bendin' my knees." he explained. I reluctantly gave into his request.

I made sure that everything was still in place and locked the door. I returned back outside to assist August with his exercises. We actually did good until he started joking but I let him know that we were being serious now. He needed all the help he could get.

After tiring ourselves out, I decided to cook something for us to eat. We both settled on shrimp alfredo. "You were showing her your moves, babe?" I joked making him glare at me. "Nah, she showed me her moves though. I tol' her she needa' teach ya' some. She was up there dancing like a strippa'." I gave him that look. "I'm playin', chilll." he laughed. "Ha ha f*cking ha, it's funny?" he laughed at my obvious irritation.

As he kept laughing, I flung a noodle on his face making his laughter instantly come to a halt. "Man, what the f*ck Missy?" he angrily spoke. I burst into laughter at the look on his face. He had an angry expression with a noodle hanging down the middle of his face. "So ya' think it's funny huh?" he challenged. I nodded still laughing.

Suddenly he ripped the noodle away from his face and slowly stood from his chair. "C'mere." he grunted struggling to make his way over to me. I got out of my seat and walked away faster than he could. I made it halfway out of the kitchen until I heard him sigh as if he was upset. I turned around to see him leaning against the wall not even attempting to chase me anymore. He looked so sad, I didn't even want to play anymore.

"What babe?" I softly spoke, "I'm just ready ta' get this shit togetha' man. I can't e'en play 'round witchu' when I know ya' wanna have fun and be silly but I f*ckin can't.", "It's nothing, okay? I'm gonna help make sure you heal the right way. We can still have fun without you putting so much stress on your legs. Let's go outside."

I assisted him back through the sliding doors. He and I weren't going to work on his legs right now, we were going to have some type of fun. I know that he's stressed about not being able to do the things he's used to doing, but he has to realize that this thing isn't permanent.

"Ooh let's playyyy.." I trailed off trying to think of what we could do. "Let's play Simon says." I suggested giggling. "Baybeh, Simon says. Really?" he joked. "You don't really have to do it, you can just make me do the stuff." I told him. I instantly knew this was a bad idea by the look on his face. He licked his bottom lip and rubbed his chin as he was staring hard at my private area through my leggings.

Ugh, what did I get myself into?
