"Woohoo." I thought, as my teacher was assigning us a project for the summer. Like, dont you have a brain? I thought summer vacation was supposed to be..fun? I stuffed the assignment in my backpack, not in the mood for crap. I waited for the bell to ring. Please ring. Ring already. Ple-

"Danielle!" I reacted to my name and turned around.

"Hey Cassidy." I said.

"Cass." she corrected.

"Exactly. Dont ever call me Danielle again. Its Dani." I stated.

She gave a gentle laugh. "Sorry I kinda forgot.." she answered

"As I can see.."

The bell rang and I quickly got up, eager to get away from Cassidy. She wasnt mean, but she was the annoying type. I wanted to see my bestfriend, after all, we were going to South Carolina-together!

"Lottie!" I yelled, relieved to see her.

"We're going to South Carolina!" she yelled.

"Yea," I replied "when were we leaving again?" I asked

"Tonight at 8. Probably getting there by midnight." she answered

"Oh, shit!" I yelled.

"What now?" she asked.

"You see, I'm not the most organized person on the planet."

"And?" she asked

"And, I havent even started my packing!" I yelled.

She laughed.

"Are you fucking retarded? I'm worried about my packing-" I looked at my watch "-and its almost 5!" I yelled.

"I knew this was gonna happen." she stated.

"And?" I asked, mimicking her.

"And, I already finished my packing and I can come over and help you."

"More like come over and eat." I taunted.

Me and her walked outside and waited for our mom to pick us up.

"Hey!" I exclaimed, happy that she wasnt late for once

"I couldnt be late today, could I?" she asked. "How's it going Lottie?" she asked my bestfriend.

"Going good Mrs. Higgins." she replied. As much as I didn't like it, mom and Lottie were the two most social butterflies that I know.

"Finish your packing yet?" asked mom

"Yes." answered Lottie.

"How about you Dani?" asked mom

"Half of it..kind of...somewhat...no." I answered, hesitating.

"Not surprised." said mom, grinning at Lottie.

In the next hour and a half or so, we drove home, and I finished most of my packing. As you all know, Lottie just sat there ingesting food. Cheez Its. Chocolate chip cookies, apple pie, leftover pasta, orange juice, and random slices of cheese. Yup, thats my bestfriend. And I love her.

Its was 7, so dad said we should probably get to the airport. Mom checked her suitcase, as well as mine, Lottie's, and my two year old brother, Louis's.

Lottie was going with me, she had no one related to her. Only my family.

As we boarded the ship, I realized how packed it was. This time of day, everyone can manage a flight.

Mom, dad, and Louis had to sit somewhere in the front, while me and Lottie were about 11 rows behind them.

As the plane took off, me and Lottie did the two things we love most; Music, and reading.

The first 45 minutes, we listened to One Direction music, one after another. Save You Tonight, Gotta Be You, Up All Night, Na Na Na, What Makes You Beautiful, Stole My heart, Moments, One Thing, Tell me a Lie, Little things, Live While We're Young, and many more.

The rest of the flight I read a book called "Deep and Dark and Dangerous." by Mary Downing Hahn. I have to admit it, it was a good book. I glanced over a few times and saw Lottie writing her book. Yes, my bestfriend wants to be an author, and yes, we are total nerds.

It was before I knew it, we were landing. Lottie and I grabbed our suitcases and headed to get closer to my parents. We walked off the plane, and got to our taxi. It drove us to Marilyn Park Inn, a motel that my grandmother owns. Grandpa is still alive, but he's got mental problems, not the severe, retard mode kind, but the slow and steady, the kind where he has seen something but is hesitating to tell anyone else.

"Hello Eleanor!" exclaimed grandma, giving mom and hug.

"..and David!" she said, hugging my dad also. As you can see, grandma is a huggy type of person.

"Oh my god, Dani, you've gotton so tall!" she said, reaching in for a hug.

"Thanks grandma." I said, after she was done hugging me.

"Who's this?" asked grandma, pointing to Lottie.

"This is my bestfriend, Lottie, the one I told you about on the phone? Yea, thats her." I said

"Oh! Nice to meet you!" said Grandma, reaching into Lottie for a hug.

We went into the inn, and grandma assigned us our rooms. Me and Lottie had to share a room that had a bunkbed. Fine with me. I was rather happy. Our room had a small tv in one corner, a reading chair in the other, the main door in the other, and the last corner held the bunkbed. Pretty decent I'd say.

We had pasta with meatballs for dinner. Since it was our first day here, grandma cooked it. Louis kept begging for his babyfood, but eventually he ate the pasta.

And that was the first and last normal day that I had at my grandmother's inn. Ever.
