"Who's brought the summons?" Coranther asked Morys.

Morys exhaled through his nose, "The twins".

"I'm gonna call you back, ok?" He told Mikael, ending the call and grabbing his blazer off the chair. He followed Morys through the door as he put on his blazer, time slowing down as thoughts swirled like a growing storm in his head. The twins, he thought, they sent the twins.

They were waiting in Mory's office. Two statuesque temple messengers dressed in all black. But they weren't just any temple messengers, they were the temple messengers. Devoted, loyal, and favorited by the Gods. The ones they sent on matters too private for just anyone. Being the Gods personal mouthpieces, they were respected, revered, giving even the elders a run for the God's love.

"Good evening gentlemen" Coranther said entering first and the twins bowed in unison. Their movements were methodical, synced, and pleasing to the eye. "You have something for me" He said and the youngest one, Baroque, the more outgoing of the two, handed him the summons. He broke the outer seal and unfolded the crisp white paper. Written were six words followed by the signature seal of all but one God. For Your Crime Against A Cousin. The words sunk like a knife in his chest; a hollow pit forming in his stomach. He couldn't let himself think, he simply folded the paper and put it inside the inner pocket of his blazer.

"They request your immediate arrival" Bizantine instructed.

"Okay," he took a breath, "Can I tell my wife I'm leaving?".

Baroque and Bizantine gave each other a quick look then nodded once, folding their hands behind their back.

"You'll hold things down?" Coranther asked Morys.

He nodded, "I'll keep the seat warm" He said trying to mask the worry in his voice.

With a final glance, Coranther exited through the door to walk with his new companions; the staff side eying the three of them. When they reached Analilith's suite he raised his knuckles to the door and did his secret knock. She opened and he immediately noticed the puffiness under her eyes.

"Can I come in?"

"Yeah" she gestured him inside before noticing the two messengers standing behind him, "what's going on?" she asked as Coranther stepped in, the twins both taking a step forward as if to enter also.

"Guys please, we're nine stories up and I don't have wings, I'm not going anywhere" He said raising the edge of his lips into a half smile.

They obliged and Analilith locked the door behind them. He took a seat on one of the love seats, resting his elbow on his knees, folding his hands together like a prayer as she sat beside him.
