At the end of the day I hopped on the bus and waited for other students to get on so the bus could move.
Once everyone got on I looked around the bus and saw the boy from the lunchroom sitting on the seat next to me. I didn't know he lived near me since where I lived was in kinda in the ghetto.
I wanted to talk to him he seemed very mysterious , so I decided to tap on his shoulder and he turned towards me quickly.
"What do you want?" He responded rudely
"I just wanted to make friends here since it's my first day" i said
"Well I don't wanna be friends with people like you" he said.People like me? What does he mean people like me. I assumed he was a racist because I was the only black girl in the school and he probably meant that.
My mother was right when she said people in America were ignorant.
I just decided to let go what he said to me and I arrived at my stop. As I was walking to get off the bus i waved and smiled at the boy from the lunchroom because I thought being nice to him would change his thoughts on me . But he just glared at me.
After school my aunt said we were going to the mall to get me some new clothes and I was excited about the idea because I haven't been to a mall since I came here in America.
When we arrived at the mall I was shocked at how much stores to shop in there was. My aunt said I could buy anything I want so I went into a store called "Forever 21" I didn't know what It was but I was intrigued by the clothes I saw in the display window"
We entered the store and I bought a bunches of ripped jeans and regular jeans, crop tops, t-shirts, and so much more. I went to go to check in my items when I noticed a familiar boy with blue eyes. It was the boy from the lunchroom.
I put my items on the counter. I don't think he noticed me until he looked up. I smiled at him nicely once he looked up but he glared at me like he did on the bus.
After he checked out all the items he told me the price
"It's $440.25" he said looking bored
"Oh okay!" I said while getting out the money my aunt gave me.
"Like you can even afford all this" he mumbledI was angry because he has been saying really offensive stuff to me since I came here and I have been nothing but nice to him.
" Look I don't know what your problem with me , I just came here from Africa and I don't want no problems with you American people, so if you have anything rude to say to me don't say it at all" I said while slapping the money on the counter and walking off quickly. When I walked out the store I saw my aunt waiting and I guess she saw that I was mad and she quickly asked what is wrong with me and I said nothing because I didn't want to be bothered right now.
