*Samantha’s POV*
When I saw the moving truck pull in to the Robinson’s old house, I decided I would stay and watch to see who my new neighbors would be. I first saw an older couple step out of the van, which I immediately recognized as the parents, next walked out a girl, who looked around maybe 23, and lastly a boy around my age. I was automatically intrigued by him, looking at his “chill” sense of style: a loose shirt, black skinny jeans, and boots. Honestly, he seemed the least excited to be here.
As I tidied up my room a bit, I decided that soon I would go welcome them to Odebolt and get to know them a bit more. I sat back on my window bench and looked back over to the boy who was still standing up staring at my house. I hurried to close my curtains, so he wouldn't know that I was watching him.
He must not want to be here… I thought. He must have left something behind that he really loved. I use that to conclude my thoughts about the boy and start to get ready for the day.
I threw on a Green Day t-shirt and some ripped skinny jeans before heading to the bathroom to fix my face. I just swipe on some eyeliner and mascara, and add come tinted chapstick before putting my hair in a loose braid. I probably could of looked better but, hey, it’s the last few days of summer, gotta get the most out of it!
I check my reflection once more before quickly walking out of my room and going to my mom’s office.
“I’ll be going to meet the new neighbors now, if that’s alright with you,” I tell her.
“That’ll be perfect honey. I’m about to take a business call so brig a house key with you!” she calls as I walk out the light emerald colored door.
I take my time walking to the Robinson’s old house, knowing they are probably stressed out of their minds trying to get everything done. Once I’m at the door, I contemplate wether to knock or ring the door bell. I decide to ring the doorbell, and about 45 seconds later the young lady answers.
