  ALEX'S P.O.V:
When Emma slams the door in my face, I feel like she just punched me. I turn around, head hanging, and walk back to my house. This is all Jeremy's fault! It was all his idea to go after Emma! I hate that guy! Dale meets me at the corner of the street.

  "Wasn't that fun," he says.

"What? Going after the girl? Yeah!" I know I'm lying, but this guy can hurt me, so of course I'm going to lie.

The only thing that scares me is, if what Jeremy says is true and Emma can seriously hurt me, then I better not get caught alone with her.
Phillipe's P.O.V:
I walk into the kitchen to find Emma crying in a corner. I walk up to her, embracing her in a hug. "What happened," I ask.

"He...I...Alex kissed me. He's trying to fake liking me, trying to get to my head. I can't let him." She continues to mumble things, when I get a text.

MOM,
Get home now. Dale wants to hang out. I'm kind of mad about this. So Dale's to much of a wuss to text me himself huh? I bring up Dales contact.

ME,
You don't have enough guts to text me urself wuss?

I get a reply a few minutes later.
DALE,
Hey, come on man. Don't tell me ur actually on that girls side.

Me,
I am.

Dale,
Well I don't see how I'm the wuss, ur stickin  up for an idiot girl.

Oh, now I'm really going to give it to him.

Me,
U, me, tomorrow at three at the elementary school black top.

Dale,
Sounds like a fight.

Me,
No duh Sherlock.

Dale,
I'll be there.

I realize that Emma's reading over my shoulder. I put my phone away. "You weren't supposed to see that," I say.

"Why," she says, leaning on my shoulder, "afraid I would show up?"

"Yes, I don't need you getting hurt."

"Too late," she says. I take a deep breath before asking the question that's been nagging me since this afternoon.

"Emma, what did you mean when you said that I caused you pain?"

She looks up at me in alarm.

"Um...just that we weren't always that great of friends."

"That's a lie and we both know it," I growl. "Tell me the truth." She takes a breath.

"It's just...it was when you used to take part in my bullying." I freeze. I remember it clearly now. For six years, I joined in with my friends in Emma's misery. She resented us. No, she despised us. Whenever we walked through her yard, we'd do things to he, and she'd hit us right back the next day. I just started being nice to her this year.

Suddenly, I can't stand to be around her. I stand up. "Phillepe," she says. She sounds scared and confused, honestly, she's scared by a running leaf.

"Mikey! Come on, we're leaving!" Then I turn and open the door, walking out but leaving it open for Mikey. I hear him say something to Emma, then he joins me on the porch. He gives me a confused look. I just grab his arm and drag him with me.
