I have been going in circles for an hour trying to figure out what this scent was, being fae meant that my sense of smell was sharper and stronger than a humans and yet I didn't know what this smell was. I had never smelt this smell before, not in the seventeen years I have been alive but somehow It was familiar, somehow It  reminded me of home, a home I was yet to find, a home that was sweet and beautiful.
The sun has almost risen so I had been in this forest for a good couple of hours but trying to find the smell had meant that I hadn't realised when the forest went quiet like their was a predator about, even the wind whispered that there was some sort of predator lurking nearby so as quiet and quickly as I could I climbed the nearest tree. As soon as I had gotten into a good place in the tree the same scent hit me overpowering most of my other senses but not enough to stop me hearing the crunch of the orange and brown leaves that were covering the forest floor. The sound was getting louder until it was almost underneath me then the crunching stopped and someone or something inhaled as if it could smell something, then there was silence and I didn't know what was happening until a hand was covering my mouth and I was being pressed against a hard masculine body, and then it hit me that this male was where the scent was coming from. All of a sudden a darkness came rushing in and I was dreaming, the dream was about scars and shreds of memories from a different time a different place. A place of smiles and laughter, a place of hope. Then the place vanished and a different place appeared. This new place was empty and dark, a darkness that held no stars or planets. There was no joy or warm summer breeze in this place only a blistering wind and sadness. In this place the sun didn't kiss my face every morning because the sun didn't exist in this place I could see short sweet glimpses of the past that held love and friendship then there was nothing but agonising silence and a never ending void but I could smell something, it was a new smell a smell I had just learned and instantly I was being pulled from the darkness back to reality. I don't know how long I had been dreaming but as soon as I woke I felt the sun on my face and heard voices, one male and one female but I didn't listen for long when a throbbing pain sliced through my head like a knife and I started to scream. At that moment a the male rushed in.
He had a worried look on his face and before I could tell what was happening he placed his hand on my shoulder.
" Sleep Asta", he said softly and instantly the throbbing stopped and I was lulled into a sweet dreamless sleep.
When I woke it was night time and I was so thirsty when was the last time I had drank anything or even eaten. As if my thoughts had been read the male walked in with a tray of food in his hands. Now that I looked at him he was handsome, no handsome couldn't come closed to what he looked like. He looked like something that came only in wet dreams and romance books, and he was an angel. Never in my life had an angel talked to me. most of the time angels kept to themselves or high ranking vampires and the archangels. They hardly ever stooped so low as to talk to a shifter, human or fae like myself. The angel came over to me and placed the tray of food next to my bed then sat down at the chair in the corner. All of a sudden that smell came back and I realised that he was the male that had grabbed me in the woods. I opened my mouth to demand why I was here but he had already started talking.
"Ok i know that your probably wondering why you are here and who I am, and I promise I will answer all your questions but first I need you to eat and clean yourself up", he said in a calm and deep voice.
I didn't have the energy to argue so I started to eat. After I had eaten I put the plate back onto the table beside the bed.
"Where is the shower?" I said in a soft voice.
"It's in the closest room to the right", he explained while getting up and stretching out his beautiful white wings which looked as if the tips if each feather had been dipped in gold.
"Thank you", was all I said as before I headed out of the room.

When I had seen her in the forest today I knew that she was my mate, if not for the bond that pulled me towards her, then it was the scent of a summer breeze carrying the smell of sweet citrus that had been described to me many times as being the smell of a bonding between mates. She had fair skin and green eyes and her chocolate brown hair fell to her shoulders. She was beautiful.
"Where is the shower?" Asta said her delicate voice floating across the room to pull me back to the present.
She sounded so scared that it made my heart ache.
" It's in the closest room to the right", I said whilst stretching as if it would ease some of the tension in the room.
"Thank you", was all she had whispered before standing up on her to thin legs and walking out of the door.
I could tell she was fae from the pointed ears and glowing skin, two of the many features that the fae had, but something about her wasn't right. Although Asta's body was definitely that of a seventeen year old, she looked so thin and delicate, she looked as though she could snap in a second, yet she held herself together pretty good when the demon attacked her.
Maybe she just hadn't eaten in a while.
I decided to go the kitchen and make a coffee, while waiting for the coffee to brew I started to wonder what exactly I was going to say to Asta and how I was gonna explain the demon to her.
I was standing at the kitchen bench when the mood in the air shifted, and Asta stormed out of the bathroom wearing nothing but her towel.

I was furious, more than furious. One minute I had been taking a shower the next I find three deep cuts on my leg. I hadn't cared that I was only wearing a towel when I stormed out to what I assumed was the kitchen and found the angel standing at the kitchen bench looking like he was deep in thought.
"Why the fuck do I have three cuts on my leg?!"I yelled at him.
His face tensed as if he was trying to figure out something but couldn't quite work out what it is.
"I can't figure out what your thinking your emotions are to deep it's almost as if you have shielded against me", he said in a calm yet quizzical voice.
What did he mean he couldn't figure out what I was thinking.
"I need answers right now!" was all I demanded before walking over to the counter and sitting down at one of the stools.
He took a deep breath and I knew that he was thinking of what he was going to say.
"Ok so I am Hunter and i am a Daimati which means I can read thoughts and enter someone else's mind as if I was stepping from one room to another", he took a deep breath and went on.
"The thing that was underneath your tree before was a demon that can erase the mind of it's victim when I grabbed you to keep you quiet you struggled and we fell out of the tree", Hunter started to make what smelt like coffee and kept going.
"The demon found us but for some reason it was like I was in visible and the demon only attacked you" the male handed me one of the mugs.
"By the time I had gotten to you the demon had already begun feasting on your memories that's why you can only remember darkness and cant remember me killing the demon", he breathed out deeply as if trying to erase that memory for himself.
He looked up and his face went pale and his eyes wandered up and down my body and that's when I remembered that I was still only wearing a towel.
A sudden rush of heat went to my cheeks and I knew I was blushing but before I could do anything, Hunter looked into my eyes.
" What do you know about the mating bond?"
