It's Christmas!!!!

Four Days Later

Hailey has been busy getting everyone to help decorate the castle for Christmas, although the tree still hadn't been put up. Some people are so excited that they decided to decorate their houses as well. She was so tired, so she decided to take a short nap. On her way there she overheard someone talking with her grandfather in his office, it was Bree and she sounded angry, but when is Bree not angry or annoyed. So she decided to listen in.
"It is so stupid and pointless, and it's a waste of time. The enemy could attack at any moment!" Bree stated on the verge of yelling.
"Well as the king," he stated with a little bit of force, "I think it is a great way to bring some joy and excitement to the kingdom, it has already done a great job at lifting everyone's spirits. Well, everyone's except yours."
With an exasperated sigh Bree continued, "The only good this whole thing has done is to get that useless princess off everyone's hands."
At that Hailey ran away crying silently, she didn't even wait to hear the stern response her grandfather gave Bree for insulting her.
She also missed Bree's angry whisper, "Just you wait Christmas won't mess up anything else."

Bree started walking out to the training fields, because most of the people out there are anti-Christmas too. She decided to use one of the junior archers who she knew didn't like Chase and would love to ruin the holiday for him, his name is Lark. She walks over and commands him to come with her, and the only explanation she gives is that he is needed for something somewhere else. Since she is so intimidating, no more questions were asked. After they got out of sight she pulls him into an abandoned room.
"Listen up and listen good, I need you to help me disrupt the Christmas holiday. I am fed up with it and you are going to play a key role." She says with an evil looking smirk. There is no room for argue meant in her tone, so he just nods and gestures for her to continue. She begins to explain her plan, she is going to try to come up with some very important jobs for people to do, then they will have to work on that instead of running around decorating.
"So wait a minute, what do I need to do?" Lark interrupts.
"I was getting to that," Bree replies with a glare that would make anyone feel like cowering, "You are going to cause general havoc that will disrupt the holiday. Do you think you can handle that?"
"I don't know, why would I want to mess up this new holiday?" Lark says snarkily.
"First off I thought it would be a good opportunity for you to mess with Chase, and if that is not reason enough I'm sure that you don't really like Christmas anyways. So will you do it?" Bree states with a threatening tone.
"Yes ma'am, is there anything in particular you want me to do?" He replies trying and failing to not sound like a scared two year old.
"No, you will just have to think of something, but know this, you will not tell anyone anything about this whole plan. One more thing, if you get caught come up with whatever excuse you want, but you will not mention me at all. If I catch wind of you blabbing about this I will report you to the king." Bree states before shoving him out the door and whispering you will start tomorrow.

After overhearing Bree, Hailey went to her room and cried herself to sleep. When she woke up the next morning she was just that much more determined to prove Bree wrong and make Christmas a great holiday that all Winged would enjoy. When she got downstairs she almost turned around to go cry again. The decorations were ruined, half of them were missing and the rest were completely destroyed. As she continued to look around at all the damage she sat down with her head in her hands and sobbed. She felt someone begin to pat her on the back and whisper that it would be alright and to please stop crying. As she wiped her tears away she looked up and saw Chase looking almost as disappointed as she felt. The silence began to get awkward so she took a deep breath and said, "It looks like we have a lot of work to do, so we better get started."
