For the weeks ahead, the whole kingdom was a flurry of decorations and preparations. Stockings were hung and Christmas trees were covered with beautiful decorations. Signs of Christmas joy covered the walls of the castle. Yet in all this hustle, to the great dismay of Hailey, the decorations would be trashed by the next morning! The stockings were torn and the ornaments shattered, the trees were burned and the lovely snow was melted in piles of brown slush scattered around. Hailey was so devastated because the destruction destroyed not only the decorations, but the Winged people's holiday spirit. She couldn't help but feel despair at the dreadful corruption of Christmas.

On the other hand, Bree sat back and watched her plan succeed. She was overjoyed at the success, and she knew that Christmas couldn't possibly come this year! Then she began to look closer, she realized that everyone was impossibly happy this year. There was a great joy that spread through the kingdom like wildfire. Yet when the decorations were destroyed and all the their hard work was turned to ruins, everyone was so disappointed though still determined. Bree began to fall in love with the snow, happiness, and good cheer. Slowly, but surely, Bree felt herself begin to change. She started to feel goodness, love, joy, and cheer flow through her. She began to help some of the Winged make ornaments with care, she put up trees, and spread snow through the air. Bree realized that she had to fix this and get Lark to stop the destruction. So she went to talk to Lark.

Bree approached Lark and began to explain all the wonderful things Christmas was causing and told him, "I think we should stop the destruction, isn't it enough that we have caused Hailey and Chase all this worry, we shouldn't ruin things for everyone else just to get at them." She tried all kinds of reasoning, but Lark couldn't see it from her perspective, and she didn't believe he would stop. The next morning she was proven right when everything was once again destroyed. Bree then realized that what she had started wouldn't be so easy for her to stop. Her determination only grew and she vowed that she would do everything she could to make this the best Christmas season ever. Bree had changed, and she knew that Christmas must go on.

Bree had one problem, she didn't know how to fix her mistake. So, she decided that she had to do something that she absolutely hated the thought of, she would ask Hailey for help.

As she walked through the castle to Hailey's room Bree tried to think of any other way to fix this problem, but she couldn't think of anything. She came to the door and right before knocking she whispered, "I can't believe I'm about to do this." The door opens and Hailey stares in shock because Bree is the last person she would expect to ever knock on her door.
"Bree, what do you need?" Hailey asks sounding a little nervous. Am I really THAT mean Bree thinks before replying, "I have a problem and I need your help."
"Really?" Hailey asks in astonishment, "I mean ok what's the problem?"
Bree then proceeds to tell Hailey everything from the day where she decided to ruin Christmas. "... and now he won't stop and I would hate myself if I caused this much disappointment to everyone." she finished.
"Oh my, I mean how could you? Oh nevermind, I think I know how to fix our little problem." Hailey responds with a sly smile, "How do you feel about sneaking to the human world?"

Hailey tried several times to teach Bree to use a camcorder, but Bree just couldn't get the hang of it. They ended up sneaking around the great hall and setting up their cameras. They hoped to catch him on camera and then Hailey would show the video to her grandfather. She would tell him the whole story, then they wouldn't have to worry about stopping Lark because the king would do it. It was a great plan and all the had to do was catch Lark in the act.

The next morning Hailey jumped out of bed, two days til Christmas and they would finally stop the destruction. She raced down towards the great hall to check the cameras and ran into Bree on the way. They collected all the cameras and met back in Hailey's room to see what they had recorded. They watched as Lark destroyed everything, Hailey was in tears because she couldn't believe that someone could be cruel enough to destroy Christmas. After they finished they chose one clip to show the king and headed off to breakfast.

As everyone finished eating Hailey asked her grandfather if they could discuss something in private. "Of course, you need only to ask." They walked to his study and after showing the video and telling the whole story Hailey asked, "What can we do?"
"Don't worry my dear, I will take care of it, you just make sure everything is ready and I will take care of our little problem."

So Hailey did just that. The decorations were fixed and you could almost feel the Christmas spirit in the air. Her grandfather kept true to his word and Lark was dealt with. Bree would have been punished as well, but Hailey explained how she helped save Christmas. Everything went perfectly and Christmas was here before they knew it.
