She started to shake. "But-- You should be dead!" Ruby grabbed Kaley's hand. "I promise me or my brother wouldn't hurt you." Kaley still freaked out but she was a bit calmer once she heard that. "I'm Kaley... Kaley Crimson. Princess of Abadeer." Ruby looked shocked and a bit disappointed as she thought why would a Princess love a Vampire. Kaley looked around and tried to calm down. Ruby still held Kaley's hand she let go as Ruby started to order the men around her to go get some stuff.
"Baako. My brother could you please go make sure the men don't slack and don't do their job... I would like to talk to Kaley more." Kaley looked shocked and a bit worried as she was about to talk to a vampire alone, someone that is frowned upon.
Ruby blushed as the men left around them. "Would you like to come to my place to talk more?" Kaley blushed. "Uhh... Sure." She said as she scratched the back of her head. Ruby grabbed Kaley's hand and brought her to her small but yet pretty house. Ruby and her sat at a table together and looked at each other for a minute.
"Not as nice as your castle I bet..." Kaley smiled. "No.. But it is nice that you have everything close together. Sometimes it is just a pain just to get to the bathroom." Ruby giggled. "So, Rue... tell me how are you still alive?" Ruby nodded. "Thought you would ask. My dad was going to be killed along with me and Baako since we were vampires. My dad told me and Baako to run into the forest and never come back. Which we did and we built trust with the creatures here and I was crowned ruler." Kaley smiled. "That sounds nice to be able to live here for all of your life but at the cost of your dad... That's... just sad." Ruby shrugged. "You learn to deal with it but that doesn't mean it still bothers me that they kill vampires just because we like blood. Some animal blood is really good so I don't drink human blood and besides, it's hard to drink human blood nowadays."
"Who's the royal family member?" Kaley rolled her eyes. "Well, all my family duh but I get what you're asking, what family member is allowing me to live in their home. My brother Casimir." Rue looked dreamily at Kaley. Kaley smiled. "How about you come over for dinner? Just you... I would invite your brother but... My brother doesn't really take kindly when non-royalty comes in without an invite. As you are not born a queen, so that means your brother is nothing." Ruby nodded. "I would gladly accept. Let me change and we can go. I'll leave a note for my brother so he doesn't freak but I do stuff like this all the time." Kaley smiled. "Alright!"
Ruby finished getting changed and came out in a black steampunk dress. Kaley blushed and they walked out of the forest chatting. Kaley went back on her horse and Ruby walked but didn't mind.
Ruby and Kaley made it to the castle and Ruby looked up at it in awe. "Woah... You live here!" Ruby said looking over at Kaley. Kaley nodded. "Yup!" She giggled as she took Ruby's hand and ran inside where she saw Casimir. She let go of Ruby's hand and looked at Casimir. Casimir saw Ruby's dark grey skin and kind of pointy ears and was confused. "Kaley! First up where were you! YOU MISSED THE FAMILY LUNCH! SECOND WHO IS SHE!?" Kaley looked down. "I'm sorry Casimir. I got caught up as I went to the forest... again. But I found the Queen of the Abadeer forest!" Casimir looked at Ruby again. "Oh.. Is she staying for dinner because I wouldn't mind learning more on the 'Queen of Abadeer forest.'" He smirked.
Kaley could tell he was just lying but didn't care. "Yeah she is staying over and you can't stop me. I have to deal with your dumb 'Royal parties' so let me invite one person over." Casimir sighed. "Well at least tell me what she is!?" Ruby looked mad. "I'm Rue a dark elf." She said in a mad but yet calm voice. Kaley looked over at her and whispered to Ruby. "You don't even look like an elf!?" Ruby scoffed. "I can pull it off." She said with a smirk on her face. "Well, I guess our elf friend can come," Casimir said.Kaley took Ruby by the hand and took her to her room. As Ruby walked into the room following Kaley she was in awe at how big and fancy the room was compared to her room back in the forest at the small hut. Kaley looked over at Ruby and her eyes that sparkled in awe. Kaley giggled, "A lot bigger than your place at home, eh?" Ruby looked down at Kaley as she was looking up at the canopy before and nodded. Kaley couldn't help but blush as she noticed Ruby's beauty better in the light of her room then the dark and somewhat gloomy forest. Ruby looked at Kaley as if she had underestimated her smile. "The forest has barrier magic placed over it so only those who are worthy are allowed in which is the reason for its dark implode," Ruby said.
"Does that mean I'm worthy?" Kaley asked. Ruby nodded. "I guess so." She grins as Kaley giggles. Kaley smiles and blushes as she looks into Ruby's calming eyes. Ruby blushed. Casimir yelled up from the staircase. "Queen Ruby! Kaley! Come eat!" Kaley and Ruby snapped out of it and Kaley looked confused, "Casimir never calls me to eat it is always James." Ruby looked a bit suspicious, "Hmmm..." Kaley started to walk to the door as Ruby stepped in front of her and opened the door for her, "M'lady." Kaley blushed and was trying to keep herself together.
