(1st person POV)
We were all standing in 1-C, ready for the meeting after all of the evening patrols were done. Right before we were all about to go to our own classrooms and catch some rest. I stood in the corner sulking about an event that happened during me and Ethan's patrol. It ended up costing us to get into a fight.

———Flashback to the patrol———

All I remember was I took a wrong step. I ended up tripping on something, and that caused me to get off and onto the wrong trail. When I tripped it changed my direction, so I ended up getting lost and not being able to find Ethan. Eventually I went too far, and ran into the gate where hundreds of furious zombies were banging up against the chain link fence. I was so shocked by all of them that I hadn't checked my surroundings, and hadn't heard when a familiar growl came up behind me. However, I did hear the rough pound of Ethans bat as he struck the zombie to the ground. That caused me to quickly turn around and to practically turn on my brain from the trance it had been in.

"What the hell y/n?!"

I opened my eyes wide in shock. The way he said this was in a wayyyy angrier tone than I have ever seen him in before. His eyes squinted and darkened, staring straight at me waiting for an answer, but I was choked up. I opened my mouth a couple of times, but nothing came out. It felt like someone was holding my throat forcefully enough to stop my speech.

"Fine! You don't want to talk about it? Well, we've got to go anyway!" He yelled.

It wasn't that I didn't want to, I couldn't, but I can see that he doesn't understand that yet. He ran up to me and aggressively grabbed my wrist, then he started to run at, what seemed like, light speed. I ran along with him, keeping my mouth shut the entire time. Soon, he pulled me into a storage closet and locked the door, pushing my back against it while holding me by my shoulders.

"Now... What. The Hell. Y/n." He was trying to keep calm, but his use of pauses in this sentence obviously gave it away.

Suddenly it felt like whatever butterfly was stuck in my throat before flew out of it, allowing me to answer Ethan directly. I could see him tense up as he looked me up and down, frantically, waiting for some sort of reply.

"I was in shock before. I couldn't talk, Ethan, even if I wanted to." His eyes soften as I say this, but the rest of his body, including his hands forcing me against the door, are still tense as ever.

"Okay...So let's assume that's true. Why the fuck would you even lead off the normal patrol path anyway?! I mean seriously, how dumb do you have to be?! You could have died y/n!" He yelled, getting closer and closer to me against the door. He was really angry, and I could feel his breathing get heavy. I was starting to get annoyed and scared at this point.

"I tripped ok! I tripped! I know, I'm stupid for trying to keep walking! I'm stupid for trying to find you! I'm stupid for trying to keep calm! I'm stupid for even trying to stay alive in this hellish world, alright Ethan?!?!" Tears form in my eyes as I say that last sentence, although I don't cry all the way.

I force Ethans hands off of my wrists and he stumbles backward in shock, as though it just hit him how angry he was and the things he was saying. I turn around and unlock the door, then open it and start walking back to the classroom for the meeting, leaving Ethan in the dust of that shed. Tears start running down my face, but I dry them off with my sweater sleeve before I get back to the school.
