"Where are you taking me?" Björn had laughed. His eyes were shielded with a blindfold– none other than his winter scarf, and he was pushed around the yard after being spun ten times. He was certain of this as he heard her count, and he counted along with her as his mind had given him no choice but to follow along to the numeric order.
"Almost there."
"Is it the boat?"
"No."
"Is it... to Christian's?"
"No."
"The stables?" he guessed effortlessly.
"No. Shh. You'll see."
As soon as he felt her stop pushing him, he turned and pulled her to him until her arms hugged from his waist.
"Did you think I wouldn't figure out where you're taking me? Should I remind you, I built it."
"Shut up and let me surprise you for once, will you?" He smiled as he listened to her, a smile that had her eyes round from love as she observed him. He was blindfolded still and completely hers. He could hear sounds of nature and light music around them. It had felt like a movie.
"You're the surprise of my life."
She was far too silent now and he raised one side of his scarf to peek at her. She had slight tears in her eyes and he peeled the entire scarf off his head and put on his glasses to see her better.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I love you."
He grinned and kissed the side of her head. "Me too, baby." Björn looked up to the height of the tree house as the light of the sky was a deep blue now.
"How much was the rental fee for tonight?" Agnetha curved her lips as she began to climb up the stairs and looked over her shoulder to answer.
"A pool party."
"It's barely May."
"Yeah, but the days go fast and you know the minute they hear warm weather their minds go to swimming, outdoors, pools and stuff."
"Yeah," he mumbled going after her steps. There was a string of lights that had illuminated the small wooden room, blankets covering a large section of the floor and pillows on the side. Björn's guitar was on the floor, a small speaker to stream music through Bluetooth and a box of small assorted cakes. He stood at the stop of the ladder and watched her get comfy.
"What do you think?"
"It's perfect," he grinned. "You even brought up my guitar."
"I love it when you play. It's relaxing." She patted the place beside her and he climbed in.
"You know it'll get cold. It's night time now."
"Mm, I trust these blankets will help. And you," she had a laugh back at him.
The two elder lovers sat together in the tree house outlooking the grand farm before them. The field was large, the light in the sky was completely fading away as it was nearly 10 PM by then. The stars were seen perfectly from the skylight above them. They both reflected on the day and smiled in thought about it. He wondered how she might have had time to sneak away from him during the day to set it up. She had been in the kitchen nearly the whole time making dinner for their family and he was in the study working a few projects. She called for him often as the day went on but still, she managed to make her plans. The scarf he played with in his hands as he thought was wrapped around her neck now, and she cuddled him when he bundled her well.
