Run. As Noah ran he could feel the cold hard rain splash against his face, and his feet making sloshing sounds as that stuck a little in the mud. His legs burned as he started to breathe hard, as he exhaled the breath made a small cloud when it clashed with the cold air. He turned his head to look behind him he could see the shadowy figure still chasing after him. He looked forward and hoped he could get to the inner city fast enough... if he did he could probably lose the person in the crowds.. if people were still out. He cursed the rain under his breath, the wizard got to the gates and to his relief he could see a small crowd around the town square.

But when he looked back he realized that in that short span of time... there was no one there. Where is he? He thought to himself as he took a deep breath and shoved his hands into his pockets and started to slowly walk over to the market. His hood still pulled up made him even less noticeable even though he was almost invisible to begin with as everyone was to busy trying to purchase food and wares or trying to get out of the rain to even pay attention to the young mysterious man in a cloak and dirty clothes.

He smirked, though he didn't enjoy the thought of stealing now would be a perfect time to. He needed food and so did Mikayla, his only friend she was the only one who would stand up for him, the only one who tried to understand him. He walked slowly through the market looking for a busy stall with many different goods and wares.

"Fruits... no. Leathers... not right now". Until he found what he was looking for, a stall that contained different breads and baked goods but it was also near the more expensive stall with arcane books, gear and weapons. All of these would be useful if he could grab some but, this wasn't his area of expertise... it's was Mick's.

He didn't have a choice, as the dealer was making a transaction he rushed the stall and grabbed many louves of bread and then quickly made his way to grab anything at the other stall. He managed to grab a book, a couple scrolls and an arcane focus. He then rushed into another small crowd heading in a different direction, where he lost those who dared to follow him in the mass of people.

As he walked with them he stuffed the goods in his small grungy leather backpack that contained just a few items. It also carried a bedroll on the back and a tinderbox in a small pouch. Noah slowly made his way to their hideout, a small place under an abandoned house. It was made of wooden beams and only had 3 walls the other side was against a hill making it easy for him to slide in and hard to get out. It was easily concealed with a few wooden planks that they had found. He lifted the planks and he slid down the steep decline.

He was greeted by the warm smile of Mikayla or Mick for short. He replaced the wood as Mikayla started to talk to him.

"What did you find! Where you able to get what you were looking for?" She coughed her voice sounded hoarse from a sore throat. He nodded and set down his bag on the dirty ground which was damp from the ground water that came from the rainy weather.

"I've got it right here but wait a moment" he grinned as he set down the goods he stole from the market

"I got you something" he handed her a dagger one that fit in her small half lung hands she beamed up at him and took it out of his hands.

"You didn't go out and steal again did you!?!" She said accusingly.

"I may have..." he rubbed the back of his head and looked away as he confessed to his misdeed.

She tutted and then spoke "Your gonna get caught one day... that's my job" she sighed and then coughed.

"Your sick" he pleaded "you need the rest and food" he opened his bag again and set the bread and a few pastries down on a platter they had stolen previously. She shook her head in distaste but then split the loaf on half and took one portion of it, she left the other part for him. He was about to protest but she practically shoved the other half in his hand.

"You need to eat too," she cooed "or you'll be all skin and bone..." she looked him up and down "though it seemed you already are!" She teased.

He simply shook his head and continued to unpack the bag. He took out the book and the 3 scrolls he managed to grab, he would study these at a later date maybe learn some more. He hadn't been to school in a while after the whole incident. The one that had been covered up by the Academy with the aid of the government and an assembly of powerful wizards.

He stared in distaste as for a moment he was taken back to a moment in time he wished to forget. He comes back to reality as he noticed the last thing in his bag, the WHOLE reason he traveled to another town. He takes out box that seemed to glow, within the box there contain magical paper and ink and also a letter. The letter was from a young woman, his Amelia. It was a gift he was given but had left at his old home, which had previously burned down. It was a wonder it was still there it must of been enchanted but he was relieved.

"These will come in handy!" He held up the magic paper as he looked back to see Mikayla stuffing her face. He gave a half smile and then placed everything back in the box, leaving the letter unopened.
