ahreum.
"ahreum-ah, it's time for your check up." my nurse, jinhee eonni said as she went inside my room which made me stopped reading my book. i gave her a small smile as she sat across my seat.
"so, anything interesting?" she asked as she got my blood pressure. i shook my head as i gave her a smile.
after she was done with my check up she faced me and gave me motherly smile. "i heard from jaehyuk that you like someone." i was taken aback at the sudden question she asked.
"NO?!" i denied as she started laughing. "so who is it?" she asked as i shrugged. "is it the guy next door?" she question making me clear my throat. she let out a teasing "oh" as i pouted.
"i-i just thought he was pretty cute?" i puffed my cheeks as she chuckled in the process before standing up and stroke my hair.
"want me to tie your hair?" she asked making me grin.
"yes please." i nodded eagerly. she had always been like a mother to me, probably because i spend most of my time with her since my dad is always at work and goes home late while jaehyuk goes to college, jinhee was the only one i could talk to in our house. i have never went into a real school so i read books really often.
i love mathematics, i'm not really sure why a lot of people hates it tho? when i get bored of reading, i solve mathematical equations. it keeps me sane.
i have already mentioned my love for astronomy before, right? and i love the night sky. i want to see a blue moon up close once in my life before i die, that was my only wish... but i don't think that's possible.
"there!" jinhee eonni said after she finished doing my hair and handed me a mirror.
"high ponytail! classic." i giggled and so did she.
"how's soojin?" i asked her.
"oh speaking of soojin!" she snapped her fingers. "she wanted you to check her messages on your sns. she read the book you gave her on her birthday and she loved it. i don't even know why you, teenagers read romance novels a lot." she shook her head making me grin.
soojin was jinhee eonni's sister and the only friend i have which is the same age as me.
"i mean the endings are very predictable. the guy gets the girl or the girl gets the guy... they live happily ever after blah blah. it's predictable no matter how many plot twists are made."
"just like no matter how many medicine i take, theraphies and check ups i do, i would still die?"
jinhee eonni stopped as she looked at me with a sad look. "ahreum honey..."
"i'm just kidding, eonni!" i chuckled. "i'll just go get a glass of milk." i said as i stood up.
"no. i'll get it for you." she insisted and before i could protest she already left my room as my smile slowly disappeared.
i guess endings are really the worst part of everyone's story, huh?
