"ahreum?" i turned around only to see jaehyuk coming inside my room.

"hi!" i greeted him with a smile.

"junkyu's already outside."

"oh! he is?"

he nodded and smiled. "happy birthday, princess." he pulled me inside his embrace. it was warm and tight. as if he didn't want to let me go. i mumbled a small thank you before hugging him back.

"i love you, okay?" jaehyuk reminded me.

"i love you too, jaehyuk." i replied as he pulled away from the hug and tucked in strands of hair behind my ear.

"reumi..." he started.

"i'm letting you go now." jaehyuk gave me a genuine smile. it was genuine but i can clearly sadness in his eyes.

"jaehyuk, i'm sorry."

jaehyuk shook his head. "no, no. you don't have to be. i didn't want you to go outside because i was afraid that i might lose you. maybe it's time for me to stop being selfish with your own happiness, ahreum."

"jaehyuk, you are not selfish. don't you ever think like that." i scolded him making him chuckle.

"jaehyuk, do me a favor..."

"what is it?"

"i want you to be happy and do what you always want to do. you were always thinking about what is best for me. you keep choosing me, now i want you to choose yourself." i smiled.

"i want you to be happy, jaehyuk." i told him. "and tell dad stop fooling around and always tell him to not skip his meals."

jaehyuk laughed. "stop talking as if you're leaving us already..."

"just promise me that you'll choose yourself from now on." i stuck out my pinky as jaehyuk laughed because of my childish act.

"promise." he still did nonetheless.

"come on. sohee and yedam are bickering downstairs and you don't want to keep junkyu waiting."

"do you really have to go?" sohee pouted. "let's just stay here for a month-"

"sohee." jinhee eonni glared at sohee as she pouted.

i smiled at sohee. "i'm going to miss you."

"shut up. i'm gonna miss you more now give me a hug." sohee spread her arms open as i hugged her.

"sohee stop hugging her, i want to talk to her. move." i could feel sohee rolling her eyes as she let me go and glared at yedam.

"whatever, coconut." sohee mumbled as she went closer to jinhee eonni.

"it's cold outside. bring this with you." yedam handed me a jacket as i smiled. "thank you, yedam."

"no thank you, ahreum. for being my friend." yedam sincerely said as he gave me a smile.

"stop making me cry! i should be the one thanking you for befriending me!" the both of us as he sealed his words with a tight hug.

i then looked at my brother and my father. "i love you, baby girl."

i smiled. "i love you too, dad." i replied.

"happy birthday." he said planting a kiss on my head and hugged me.

jaehyuk just looked at me, with a smile on his face before giving me a finger heart, which i also returned.

"jaehyuk, you might want to open the door now." dad told jaehyuk.

"oh right!" jaehyuk laughed as we all did.

"you will always be daddy's princess."

third person.

ahreum went out of junkyu's car and the cold sea air slapped her skin.

she closed her eyes as she tried to feel the wind.

"ah too bad we missed the sunset." ahreum opened her eyes and looked at the water.

"i remembered you said you hated the ocean but now you're here." junkyu said standing next to ahreum, chuckling.

"well, i have no choice the blue moon would be the most visible here. come on, i want to take a closer look." ahreum excitingly said as she dragged junkyu closer to the shore.

junkyu could only shook his head and let his girlfriend drag him. "woah."

"it's pretty." junkyu said looking at the blue moon in front of them as ahreum nodded and stared at it, smiling.

"i finally got to see you up close." junkyu smiled as he went closer and hugged ahreum from behind.

"remember what you told me about the blue moon?" junkyu asked ahreum as he placed his chin on her shoulder.

"that whoever stands beside you under the blue moon would the person you'd spend tour forever with?" ahreum asked.

junkyu nodded. "i'm trying to fulfill it." junkyu said causing ahreum to turn around and looked at him. "huh?"

"i asked your dad to let me accompany you on seeing the blue moon because i wanted you to be the person i'd spend your forever with.." junkyu smiled tenderly at her.

"junkyu..." ahreum started, feeling a little weight on her chest.

"i love you." junkyu told ahreum.

"i love you too, kyu." she replied as junkyu kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly.

every moment with you was my happiest and i didn't want that to end. i wanted you to stay with me for a long time.

"ahreum? ahreum what's wrong?"

but i guess destiny was not on our side.

"AHREUM!"
