Rafe's Pov
It has been two hours since Mel and I had our movie date and from the sound of her light snores I could tell she was asleep. Looking down at her I admire her delicate features. Her small nose that scrunches up when she has a thought. Or when she furrows her eyebrows every time she doesn't understand something. Everything about her fascinates me. Pulling a strand of hair away from her face I smile as she lets out a snore. Just as I lay back down into the bed I hear the door open to reveal Wheezie.
"Atlas is here. He wants to see you" she says rather loudly for my liking.
"Shh Mel's sleeping. Tell him I'll meet him downstairs"
As she leaves the room I slowly slide off my bed and leave Mel on my bed as she continues to sleep. Leaving my room I head downstairs and see Atlas waiting in the lounge room.
"Hey man! You didn't reply to my message earlier I'm heading to the country club with Topper and Kelce. Wanna go?"
"I kinda already have plans" I say taking a seat on the couch next to him
"What plans?"
Before I could answer I hear Sarah's voice cut me off.
"He stole you're sister from me today and now they're hanging out." She says as she reaches the room we're in taking a seat as well.
"Pshh you aren't going golfing with us cause you're pussy whipped? Wow I thought it was guys before gals."
"Not when it comes to Mel, whatever she wants she gets when it comes to Rafe" Sarah adds in
"Okay that's not true, her and I are just really close and you know it can be fun to hang with her" I say
"Whatever man, my sister has you wrapped around her finger."
At the thought of Mel my lips begin to form into a smile. I can't believe she has this effect on me when she's not even in the same room as me.
"So since you're not going to the country club, you have to kick it with us at the Boneyard party tonight."
"Tonight? Who's hosting?" I ask
"Don't know, I heard it from Topper who heard it from Kelce who heard it from some other Kook. The point is you're going." He finishes as he gets up from the couch
"I'll have to see if Mel wants to go though" I say walking Atlas out since he was about to leave.
"So what? You my sisters bitch now?" He asks jokingly as we reach the door
"He's been her bitch since they've met" I hear Sarah yell from the kitchen
Turning to Atlas I say goodbye and close the door.
"You do know that the keggers going to be hosted by the Pogues right?" I hear Sarah ask as I walk past her
"And?"
"JJ will be there" she adds smirking and walking away
JJ Maybank. The one human being on this Earth that I can't stand. I mean okay I'm being a bit dramatic but it's true. I have my reasons though, 2 to be exact. One is that he's a Pogue obviously and two... he's Mel's ex boyfriend. It happened a year ago when Mel has to take surfing classes when her dad made her take them. So she had to be out in the cut atleast 3 times a week to take lessons from that son of a bitch. And then my little Mel being as naive as she is fell for the Pogue. When she told me about it I had to try and not act like a jealous friend who's in love with her but more as a Kook who hates Pogues.
"Rafe? Are you downstairs?" I hear Mel ask as she comes into my view from upstairs.
"I'm right here baby. So we're kinda invited to a Kegger tonight and Atlas wants us to go." I say walking upstairs and leading her back into my room.
"Oooh a Kegger sounds fun. We should go, I can be ready in an hour and then you can pick me up" she suggests
"But the Keggers not till the night, why are you gonna go get ready so soon?" I ask as she starts to put on her shoes
"I was gonna go to my house for a bit and then maybe stop by the Wreck to see if Kiara needs help with setting up the Kegger" she explains
"You're going to go help the Pogues with the Kegger?" I ask surprised at her response
"Yeah, why are you asking like if it's not something I normally do? I'm friends with the Pogues Rafe you know this."
"I mean I know you are and that's fine I guess but maybe you can just chill with me instead." I say wrapping my hands around her waist to pull her closer.
"No don't do that. You always keep me hostage when I try to leave."
"No I don't"
"Oh c'mon Rafe, you literally grab me and throw me on the bed and then you throw yourself on top of so I won't leave. In most states that's called being held hostage and it's illegal" She jokes
"Ok ok fine. But all I'm tryna do is spend time with my little goddess." I say nudging her to my bed.
"I'll make you a deal" she says as she stops me
"I'm listening"
"I'll stay for another hour if you don't get all cranky about me hanging with the Pogues" she asks
Groaning at her and her deal I sigh knowing she'd get her way no matter what.
"You're lucky you're cute" I say smiling down at her as I lift her up and throw her over my shoulder and drop her on my bed earning a squeal from her.
