Mel's Pov
Arriving at The Wreck I walked in searching for Kiara.
"Hey Mel!"
Turning around I see Kiara with a handful of plates.
"Hey Kiara, I came by to see if you guys needed any help for tonight. Rafe told me you guys were having a Kegger and I thought I'd offer my assistance." I say as she walks to the table where the plates of food were supposed to go.
"We'd actually love that" she replies as she stops at the table all the way in the back
"Melpomene Demie, long time no see princess"
Looking at the table I see the rest of the Pogues.
"I saw you two days ago JJ don't be dramatic. Anyways I'll wait for Kie's call when I can come over to help you guys."
"You leaving so soon? C'mon Mel why don't you spend some time with us?" JJ asks patting a chair next to him.
"I can't, I'd love to though but I promised Rafe I'd be back."
"I'm sure he can live without you for a while Mel, take a seat I'll bring you you're favorite drink" Kie suggests pulling the chair so I could take a seat
Nodding I take a seat next to JJ and smile to the others.
"So how you've been Mel?" Pope asks looking to me
"Good I mean since the storm hit there hasn't been anything to do but stay home."
"Hey I invited you to come hang with us yesterday at the Chateau and you said no, you could've been chillin with us" Kiara says as she takes a seat herself at the table
"I know but I already had plans Kie, you guys know I love hanging around you guys"
"Plans with who? Rafe?" JJ asks
"No with Sarah, my plans don't always consist of hanging out with Rafe you know"
"Oh really? When was the last time you saw Rafe? Or better yet when wasn't the last time you saw Rafe?"
"Oh shut up! Look Rafe and I just have this really good friendship okay"
"Rafe's the biggest douche on the island Mel"
"Correction he's the biggest douche to everyone except his friends and Mel" Kie adds
"He's only a douche when he's around his dad or when his dad is always blaming him for things. He's a good guy you just have to get to know him" I explain as I finish up my drink
"Not convinced. Anyways I'm gonna head out and get the Kegger for tonight. Would the lovely Melpomene like to join me?" JJ asks
"Sure, let me just go pay for my drink and I'll meet you outside"
"No need Mel it's on the house. I'll see you later tonight" Kie says as she walks to her dad to keep helping him.
Walking to the door I spot JJ in John B's van waiting for me. Opening the passenger door I hop in and turn to JJ. Before I could even buckle in my seat belt I feel my phone vibrate.
"Hold on let me just take this call" I say pressing answer and holding the phone to my ear.
"It's him isn't it?" I hear JJ whisper looking at me.
Nodding at him I go back to the call and hear Rafe's frantic "hellos".
"Hello ?" I ask over the phone
Before Rafe could answer I feel my phone being taken from my hands.
"Hey yeah Rafe, um Mel can't come to the phone right now cause she's out hanging with me. But I can leave a message" JJ says smiling like an idiot. Seconds later JJ hangs up after I hear screaming from the other line.
"So we getting that kegger or what?" JJ asks as he opens his door and gets out of the van.
Rafe's Pov
It has been a little over an hour since Mel left and I was starting to get worried. She said she'd be right back at the latest half and hour but it had been an hour already.
"Can you stop pacing around the room, you're giving me a headache" Wheezie complains from the sofa
"Shut up Wheez" I fire back getting aggravated
"This is about Mel huh? Why don't you just tell her how you feel?"
"It's not that easy okay? If I tell her how I feel and she rejects me I'll probably go crazy Wheezie!" I yell
"You're already going crazy Rafe, look at you. You're going nuts because you haven't seen Mel in two hours"
"It's not that. She said she'd be back in half an hour and it's already been an hour." I explain taking my phone out to call her.
On the third ring she picks up.
"Hello? Hello? Mel?" I ask over the phone when she doesn't answer right away.
As she responds back I hear shuffling before I hear another voice.
"Hey yeah Rafe, um Mel can't come to the phone right now cause she's out hanging with me. But I can leave a message" I hear JJ answer
What was he doing with her phone?
"JJ? Where's Mel? Give her the phone back Pogue!" I yell
Before I could continue to yell the line goes dead. The son of a bitch hung up.
"Looks like she found someone else to hang with that isn't you. You go Mel!" Wheezie yells getting up from the couch
